Parents and carers have been told to stop children wearing a rose pink tracksuit sold through TikTok Shop after safety regulators identified a major safety risk.
The Office for Product Safety and Standards (OPSS) has recalled the Kids Unisex Rose Pink Tracksuit, sold by seller Stylerunway, due to dangerous cords around the neck area.
Officials stated: "The product presents a serious risk of strangulation as it has decorative cords around the neck which exceed the maximum permissible length."
In light of this, shoppers have been urged to "stop using the product immediately".
The safety hazard arises from the tracksuit's design features that violate product safety standards.
According to the OPSS warning, "while worn, the cord may become entangled and tighten across the child's neck, leading to strangulation".
This design flaw means the cords could catch on playground equipment, furniture, or other objects whilst a child is playing or moving about.
As a result, the product fails to meet the requirements set out in the General Product Safety Regulations 2005.
