Lenny Henry has displayed his slimming frame since kick starting his fitness journey 10 years ago

Lenny Henry has spoken about the health and fitness tips he follows to stay in shape.

He opened up on losing three stone after tweaking his diet for health reasons.


In 2014, he decided to lose weight to reduce his risk of diabetes - a condition that his mum had.

The actor got in shape by filling up on plenty of vegetables, crediting broccoli in particular.

Broccoli has long been hailed as a weight loss food as it is low in calories and high in fibre.

This means slimmers will stay fuller for longer without needing to eat as much, and they will get plenty of nutrients.

Lenny paired a healthy diet with regular exercise and in 2018 said he had been running a lot.

Running is a great way to improve cardio fitness while also burning calories.

The average runner will burn around 100 calories per mile.

More recently, Lenny said he will workout in the gym and eat as well as he can to help maintain his slim frame.

"I try to work and go to the gym and eat healthy," he told The Sun.

Lenny is not the only celebrity to open up about staying fit.
