Tesco and Morrisons are the latest supermarkets to issue a product recall with Britons alerted to a potentially harmful ready meal.
La Famiglia Rana's Slow-Cooked Braised Beef Lasagne, stocked at both major retailers, may contain undeclared crustaceans. This poses a health risk to those with a crustacean allergy.

Batch code: L0B510816
Use by date: June 17, 2025
The lasagne has been recalled by Tesco and Morrisons
La Famiglia RanaTesco told shoppers: "Giovanni Rana UK Ltd is recalling a specific date and batch code of La Famiglia Rana Slow-Cooked Braised Beef Lasagne 700g.
"Due to a packaging error, some packs may contain Prawn & Lobster Lasagne instead, containing crustaceans (prawns and lobster), which isn’t mentioned on the label.
"This means the product is a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy to crustaceans.
"If you've bought an affected product and have an allergy to crustaceans, please don't eat it."
Instead, affected shoppers should return the product to a Tesco store where a full refund will be given - no receipt required. Britons can use the store locator to find their nearest store.
For more information, customers can contact Giovanni Rana UK Ltd directly at recall@rana.co.uk. Alternatively, they can contact Tesco Customer Services on 0800505555.
Morrisons has issued a similar recall notice, adding that "no other products are affected", to reassure shoppers.
The Food Standards Agency first alerted Britons to the faulty lasagne, announcing that the recall was England, Scotland and Wales specific.
Officials stated: "If you have bought the above product and have an allergy to crustaceans, do not eat it."
Allergy UK has detailed information on seafood allergies, including popular foods affected, non-food products affected, symptoms, diagnosis and more.
Experts explained: "Seafood is used as a collective term that includes both fish and shellfish. Shellfish is further divided into crustaceans and molluscs."
Examples of crustaceans include crab, crayfish, langoustine, lobster, prawn, shrimp, and scampi.

Seafood allergy
"A fish/shellfish allergic reaction occurs when the body recognises the food protein as harmful and mounts an allergic response," Allergy UK explained.
"An allergic reaction to seafood can be mild or moderate (swollen lips, face or eyes, itching, tingling mouth, hives, rash, abdominal pain, vomiting) or severe (breathing difficulties, dizziness or collapse).
"Fish/shellfish reactions have the potential to cause anaphylaxis, which is the most severe form of an allergic reaction."
Experts warned that anaphylaxis is a "life-threatening severe allergic reaction" and a "medical emergency that requires immediate treatment".
"A severe allergic reaction can cause an anaphylactic shock and must be treated with an Adrenaline Auto-Injector (AAI)," they added.
Food and product recalls should be taken seriously to ensure customer safety. Recently, Britons were warned that a popular pasta sauce containing glass was urgently pulled from shelves.
