The Citizens are now two points away from the Gunners with just a couple of games to go

Manchester City have closed the gap to Arsenal after winning 3-0 against Crystal Palace.

Goals from Antoine Semenyo, Omar Marmoush and Savinho were enough for Pep Guardiola's side to cruise past Palace.

Phil Foden was a standout performer on the night, setting up two goals, including a fantastic backheel for Semenyo's finish.

Palace struggled to get going throughout the contest, with Oliver Glasner's team very much having one eye on the Europa Conference League final.

The away side thought they took the lead early doors with Brennan Johnson spinning in behind to play through Jean-Philippe Mateta, who thought his strike had crossed the line past Gianluigi Donnarumma.

The Frenchman's brief celebrations were cut short though, after Johnson was deemed offside in the build-up.

The Eagles came forward again with some real tenacity 11 minutes in, as Yeremy Pino had a half-decent shot on goal deflected wide for a Palace corner, which was nearly flicked in by Chris Richards.

Up the other end, Rayan Ait Nouri came driving forward on the left-hand side, moving the ball onto his weaker foot and hitting his effort into Dean Henderson's side-netting.

City continued their attacks, and a moment of brilliance from Foden, with a beautiful backheel pass to Semenyo, who finished superbly into the bottom left corner, gave Guardiola's side the lead.

Palace nearly responded immediately with a close-range effort well saved by Donnarumma in goal.

But it was the home side, who had dominated proceedings throughout the first half, that got their well-deserved second goal.

Foden again was provider with a delicate little touch to set up Marmoush, who fizzed past Henderson, and not only give City a cushion but temporarily move them onto the same goal difference as Arsenal.

Henderson then produced a stunning save to deny Josko Gvardiol, with the Englishman visibly frustrated from the ease City were having in the contest.

Jeremy Doku came on at halftime for the Citizens, having been benched alongside Rayan Cherki and Erling Haaland in preparation for the FA Cup final on Sunday.

The Belgian showed his liveliness when he came on, forcing Daniel Munoz to sit deeper as the home side pinned Palace in their own half.

City made it three with seven minutes to play, as off the bench, Cherki beautifully set up Savinho, who finished in style past Henderson.

A well-rested City face Chelsea in the FA Cup final on Saturday, with Bournemouth and Aston Villa the remaining fixtures in the league for Guardiola, knowing he has to win both games to keep in contention with Arsenal.

Mikel Arteta's side plays against an already relegated Burnley on Monday night and a European-focused Crystal Palace on the final day at Selhurst Park.

The Spaniard knows two wins will secure their first Premier League title since 2004.
