Eva Longoria has shared her extensive 20 minute skin care routine

Eva Longoria turned heads as she shared incredible pictures of her on the beach last night.

The much loved actress garnered lots of praise for her photo and how she stays looking so young at 48.

The Desperate Housewives actress has opened up on her exact skin care routine that helps her look much younger than her years.

Eva has credited an intensive skin care regime, including creams, serums and light therapies.

"I'm a skin care maximalist, so my routine takes around 20 minutes," she told Glamour.

The actress said she will cleanse her skin, but only at night, using a cleansing balm and muslin cloth to help exfoliate.

Eva will then double-cleanse with a cleansing oil. Double cleansing can help get rid of all dirt and impurities on the skin.

"An oil-based cleanser is designed to remove oil-based impurities, including makeup, sunscreen, sebum, and pollution," experts at Healthline.com stated.

"By getting rid of this stuff first, the second water-based cleanser can really work its way into the skin, removing the likes of grime and sweat.

"Not only is a double cleanse meant to give a more thorough cleanse, but it can also revitalize dull skin and allow other skin care products to penetrate more effectively."

Eva will follow up after cleansing with a face mist and serum, although the exact products she uses will often change.

Moisturiser is an important part of Eva's routine and she focuses on using one rich with vitamin C and hyaluronic acid.

In the morning, Eva will also make sure to wear an SPF sunscreen so her skin is protected throughout the day.

The effects of the sun can be ageing, even on dull, winter days, so wearing an SPF is always recommended.

Experts at Healthline.com explained: "Both UVB and UVA rays cause skin cancer and signs of ageing, so always opt for a broad-spectrum sunscreen with a minimum of SPF 30."

Skin care tools such as a beauty wand, gua sha and laser have also helped Eva maintain her youthful skin.
