Octopus Energy has launched a revolutionary new offer that could slash charging prices for thousands of drivers across the UK.
A new offer, which is the first of its kind, will see motorists benefit from 50 per cent cheaper kerbside charging costs for those without a driveway.
New leasing customers to Octopus Electric Vehicles will be able to charge on-street from as little as 22.5p per kWh, or just seven pence a mile.
It comes as an increasing number of people are looking to move away from petrol and diesel vehicles towards electric cars, especially as fuel prices spiral in response to the situation in the Middle East.

The offer will allow electric car drivers to charge at a much cheaper rate, even if they cannot rely on charging at home, work or school.
A typical MG4 EV driver would spend around £16 for a full charge at the new Octopus Energy discounted rate, allowing motorists to travel for just 7p per mile.
The new offer will see drivers spend just 5p more per mile than the price paid by those who can charge at home using an EV-friendly smart tariff.
Savings are highlighted even further when compared to petrol vehicles, with drivers spending the equivalent of 17p per mile, or £75 per tank, for a Volkswagen Golf.
