Celtic have released a statement this evening following the dramatic scenes that marred their title triumph against Hearts at Parkhead on Saturday.
The Glasgow club offered their congratulations to manager Martin O'Neill and the entire squad for securing their 56th Scottish league championship, describing it as "a thrilling climax to the season backed by a magnificent support."
However, the celebrations were overshadowed when supporters flooded onto the pitch after Callum Osmand netted the decisive third goal.
The club expressed its regret over what happened, acknowledging that "a number of individuals" had entered the field of play during the chaotic aftermath of the victory.

Celtic stressed that for the overwhelming majority of their fanbase, pitch invasions only serve to take away from the happiness of winning moments like this.

Police Scotland confirmed yesterday they are looking into whether any Hearts players were physically attacked during the incident, with officers reviewing the circumstances of what unfolded.
Celtic have pledged to work closely with both the police investigation and the SPFL's own inquiry into the matter.

Hearts had earlier condemned the scenes as "menacing and threatening," with their players and staff leaving the stadium immediately and heading straight to the team bus.
Police Scotland said they are working with the Edinburgh club to determine whether any of their squad suffered physical abuse during the incident, with a full review of the circumstances now underway.
