What are GB Loyalty Points?
GB Loyalty Points are our way of saying thank you for spending time with The People’s Channel. When you read, watch, vote, or take part across GB News, you can earn GB Loyalty Points. These points can be used to unlock exciting rewards, special offers and exclusive access.
How do GBN Loyalty Points work?
GBN Loyalty Points reward everyday participation across GB News. The more you take part, the more points you earn.
It works in four simple steps:
- Take part: Read, watch, vote, comment, and take part across GB News to earn GB Loyalty Points.
- Build streaks: Visit often to build streaks, milestones and earn bonus points.
- Join challenges: Enter competitions and climb leaderboards to earn more.
- Unlock rewards: Use your GB Loyalty Points to unlock rewards, special offers and exclusive access.
How do I start earning GB Loyalty Points?
Simply sign in to your GB News account as a Friend, Supporter, Defender or Champion, and start taking part across gbnews.com, the GB News app or on TV.
Do Members earn more GB Loyalty Points than Friends of GB News?
Everyone in the GB News Community can earn GB Loyalty Points, but our Supporter, Defender and Champion Members earn points faster and unlock greater rewards and benefits.

Do GB Loyalty Points cost money?
No, earning GB Loyalty Points is completely free. Once you’ve built up enough points, you can use your points to redeem exciting rewards.
Can I earn points by watching GB News on TV?
Yes. On-air participation, such as voting in You Decide polls and being part of the conversation through YourSay, earns GBN Loyalty Points.
Do my GBN Loyalty Points expire?
You must have an active GB News account to earn and retain your GB Loyalty Points. If you delete your GB News account, then your points will be lost.
Are there daily earning limits on GB Loyalty Points?
Yes. Some activities have daily limits, and there is a maximum daily earning limit of 500 points per user. This helps to keep the system fair for everyone and to prevent misuse or automated activity.
How do Community tier earning limits work?
Daily earning limits control how many points you can earn in a single day, while tier-based earning limits set the maximum number of points you can hold at any one time depending on your Community Tier.
GB News Community tier earning limits:
- Friends can earn up to 125k points
- Supports can earn up to 150k points
- Defenders can earn up to 200k points
- Champions can earn up to 300k points
Why do earning limits exist?
Earning limits help ensure GB Loyalty Points remain fair and rewarding for everyone in the GB News Community. They prevent misuse and automation, while encouraging users to redeem points regularly on exciting rewards.
What happens if I stop engaging?
Your points remain visible, but your streaks, milestones and leaderboard positions are based on recent engagement. Staying active helps you maintain your status and unlock more rewards.
Can I transfer points to someone else?
No. GB Loyalty Points are personal to your account and cannot be transferred or shared.
Can I exchange GB Loyalty Points for cash?
No. GB Loyalty Points cannot be redeemed for money or cash equivalents.
How do I hide my display name from appearing in leaderboards?
You can manage how your display name appears on public leaderboards at any time by going to My Account.
Can I earn GB Loyalty Points on multiple devices?
Yes. As long as you are signed in to your GB News account on each device, you can earn GB Loyalty Points across desktop, mobile, tablet and the GB News app.
Are GB Loyalty Points available outside the UK?
GB Loyalty Points are available to GB News account holders worldwide. However, some rewards, competitions and experiences may be limited to UK residents only. Any eligibility requirements will be clearly stated.
What happens if my account is suspended or removed?
If your GB News account is suspended or removed in line with our Terms of Use or Community Rules, you may lose your GB Loyalty Points, rewards and leaderboard positions. If a suspended account is reinstated, points may be restored. If an account is permanently removed, points cannot be recovered.
Why don’t all articles or videos earn GB Loyalty Points?
Not all content across GB News earns GB Loyalty Points. In some cases, articles or videos may be excluded if they are deemed sensitive content by our editorial team.
This helps ensure the GB Loyalty Points programme remains responsible and aligned with our Editorial Charter.
Where can I see my GBN Loyalty Points balance?
You can view your points at any time by visiting loyaltypoints.gbnews.com/my-loyalty-points
Your GB Loyalty Points balance is also visible in the top right corner of the website when you’re logged in.
What is the difference between available balance and lifetime points?
Your available balance shows the points you can currently spend on rewards. Your lifetime points show the total number of points you’ve earned with GB News.
Where can I see my GB Loyalty Points history?
Visit loyaltypoints.gbnews.com/my-loyalty-points to see a full breakdown of your activity, including daily activity, streaks, milestones and points spent.
How do streak rewards work?
Streak rewards are earned automatically when you engage with GB News consistently. To maintain a streak, you need to earn at least one GB Loyalty Point per day.
Visit daily to grow your streak and unlock bonus points. If you miss a day, you can restore your streak by redeeming a Streak Saver reward. All rewards can be viewed and claimed at loyaltypoints.gbnews.com/rewards.
Why did my streak reset even though I visited?
To maintain a streak, you must earn at least one GB Loyalty Point per day while signed in to your GB News account.
If your streak reset, it may be because:
1. You weren’t signed in when you visited
2. Your visit didn’t trigger a points-earning action
3. An ad-blocker, privacy setting or cookie restriction prevented tracking
How do I enter competitions and challenges?
Go to loyaltypoints.gbnews.com/competitions to explore all current competitions and challenges. You can view entry details, track the competitions you’ve entered, and see which challenges you’ve completed.
How do I redeem rewards?
You can redeem your GB Loyalty Points for exclusive rewards at loyaltypoints.gbnews.com/rewards. Available rewards depend on your points balance and your GB News Community tier.
Why are some rewards locked?
Some rewards are only available to GB News Members and can be unlocked dependent on your GB News Community tier.
How often will GB News change rewards and competitions?
GB News will update, replace and add rewards and competitions regularly to keep the programme relevant, fair and rewarding for the GB News Community.
Where can I see my leaderboards?
Visit loyaltypoints.gbnews.com/leaderboards to view our GB News Hall of Fame and other leaderboards.
What is the GB News Hall of Fame?
The GB News Hall of Fame celebrates our top GB Loyalty Point earners across the community. Winners unlock bonus points and exclusive rewards on a monthly and annual basis.
What happens to my points if I upgrade or downgrade my GBN Membership?
Your GB Loyalty Points stay with your account when you change GBN Membership tier. If you upgrade, you’ll receive a sign-up bonus and you’ll unlock access to additional rewards.
If you downgrade, your existing points remain visible, but earning rates and available rewards may change based on your new tier. If your points balance exceeds your new tier’s earning limit, you’ll need to redeem points before you can earn more.
Do different activities earn different amounts of points?
Yes. Different activities across GB News earn different number of points based on the type of participation. Some activities also have daily limits to ensure fair play. You can view the full list of activities by going to My Loyalty Points.
Are there bonus point events or promotions?
From time to time, GB News may run bonus point events, challenges or limited-time promotions. These will be posted in the Competitions and Rewards pages of GB Loyalty Points when available.
Why can’t I see a reward I was expecting?
A reward may not be visible if it is limited to a certain Community Tier, or the reward is no longer available due to limited stock or a limited-time promotion. Your available rewards can be found at loyaltypoints.gbnews.com/rewards.
Can I earn points for past activity?
No. GB Loyalty Points are awarded for activity that takes place after the GB Loyalty Points programme is live and while you are signed in.
What happens to my points if I change my email address?
Your GB Loyalty Points are linked to your GB News account, not your email address. As long as you keep the same GB News account, your points and history will remain unchanged.
Can I delete my GB Loyalty Points history?
Your Loyalty Points history is part of your account activity and cannot be deleted. If you delete your GB News account, your GB Loyalty Points and history will be permanently removed in line with our Privacy Policy.
