The Father Ted creator has been cleared of harassing a trans activist on social media but convicted of damaging Sophia Brooks' phone
Graham Linehan has spoken out following his acquittal, saying he was “very pleased” by the verdict.
The judge found him and the women who gave evidence on his behalf to be credible and cleared him of harassment charges.
He criticised what he called “a group of dangerous men” using courts and police to push a misogynistic agenda.
Linehan thanked the Free Speech Union for their support in protecting those who speak out against activists.
He added that the ordeal had been personally challenging, saying: “The punishment is the process,” but hoped the ruling would deter similar tactics in the future.
