The iconic rocker left the music world in mourning when he died last month

The cause of death for Stone Roses and Primal Scream bassist Gary 'Mani' Mounfield has been confirmed as respiratory complications stemming from his long-term battle with emphysema.

The Manchester music icon passed away peacefully while sleeping at his family residence in Stockport on November 20, aged 63.

His family has now revealed to the Manchester Evening News that the beloved musician died from breathing difficulties connected to the chronic lung condition he had been living with for some time.

The 63-year-old's passing came less than a week after he had announced plans for an intimate in-conversation tour across the UK, which was set to visit more than 60 venues.
