Sir Rod Stewart brought his Athens performance to a dramatic standstill on Saturday evening after becoming frustrated with someone in the crowd during his rendition of Do Ya Think I’m Sexy?
The 80-year-old rock legend was mid-song at the OAKA Sports Hall when he noticed a dispute unfolding in the crowd below.
Footage from the concert shows Sir Rod, dressed in a suit and holding a football, gesturing animatedly towards the front of the stage before stopping the music altogether.
Some sources say the confrontation began when a concert-goer took issue with a woman nearby who was holding up a sign during the performance.

Visibly irritated, the Maggie May hitmaker addressed the situation directly from the stage, defending the woman and calling out the disruptive attendee.
In an expletive-laden tirade captured on video, Sir Rod said: “Out the f****** way. You’re spoiling the show for everybody.”
He continued: “Out of the way. Leave. We don’t need you here!”
Turning his attention back to the woman holding the sign, Sir Rod asserted: “All she’s doing is putting up a sign. It’s not hurting you, is it, mate?”

“Okay, from the top, where we left off,” he said, before launching back into the song as if nothing had happened.
The tense exchange was filmed by numerous concert attendees and later shared across social media.
Online users were quick to speculate about what may have triggered Sir Rod's fiery reaction.

Many fans on TikTok jokingly suggested the devoted Celtic supporter’s mood may have been affected by events earlier that day at Hampden Park.
The Scottish League Cup final saw St Mirren secure a 3–1 victory over Celtic, dealing a blow to the Glasgow club’s season.
Some commenters quipped that someone in the crowd had “probably mentioned St Mirren” to provoke the singer, while others simply noted: “His team got beat 3–1 today.”
However, some viewers of the video disagreed that Sir Rod was yelling at a fan, and instead suggested that it was, in fact, a security guard working at the concert who triggered the singer.

"This is complete BS!! He stopped the show to yell at security as he was trying to throw a soccer ball to a fan!!" one fan wrote in a YouTube comment of the events unfolding.
Another viewer echoed this sentiment, penning: "That's not what happened. He stopped to shout at the security guards, not the fan, because they were obstructing him as he tried to throw the football. Context is important."
Mr Stewart is currently on his One Last Time tour, with the Athens show featuring a 25-song setlist packed with fan favourites.
Concertgoers were treated to classics including Maggie May, Hot Legs, You Wear It Well, and Young Turks, despite the brief interruption.

The singer has said that retirement is not on the cards
| AMERICAN MUSIC AWARDSHis next performance is scheduled for Wednesday at the Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi, after which he will take a two-month break from touring.
The singer will resume the tour in February with dates across the United States, including stops in Hollywood, New Orleans, and Las Vegas.
The Athens concert comes during a mixed year for the veteran rocker, who delivered a widely praised Legends slot at Glastonbury Festival in June but was forced to cancel several shows earlier in the year due to illness.
Mr Stewart previously revealed that his current tour would mark the end of his large-scale global performances, although retirement is not on the cards.
