Brooklyn Beckham has released a six-page statement accusing his famous parents, David Beckham and Victoria Beckham, of manipulation, media briefings and attempting to undermine his marriage.
The 26-year-old declared he has no interest in reconciliation, writing: “I do not want to reconcile with my family. I’m not being controlled — I’m standing up for myself for the first time in my life.”
The bombshell statement followed more than a year of speculation surrounding an increasingly public feud within the Beckham family, which ultimately saw Brooklyn relocate to California to be with his wife, Nicola Peltz Beckham, and her family.
Nicola, 31, comes from a very wealthy and prominent New York family with deep ties to business and fashion.

LATEST DEVELOPMENTS
The Beckham family prior to the feud | PAThey reconnected later and confirmed their romance publicly in January 2020.
During the early stages of the COVID-19 pandemic, Brooklyn chose to isolate with Nicola and her family in New York rather than returning to the UK, a decision he later said confirmed he never wanted to be separated from her.
The couple married in April 2022 in a lavish £3.5m ceremony at the Peltz family estate in Palm Beach, Florida.
They later renewed their vows in August 2025 in Westchester County, New York, with Brooklyn’s parents and siblings not in attendance.

In his statement, Brooklyn said his family was excluded from the vow renewal to avoid the “anxiety and embarrassment” he claims overshadowed their original wedding.
He alleged his mother “hijacked” their first dance in 2022, claiming singer Marc Anthony called him to the stage where Ms Beckham was waiting, instead of Nicola, and that she danced “inappropriately”, leaving him feeling “humiliated”.
Despite the current tensions, Nicola’s relationship with the Beckham family was not always strained.
Brooklyn Beckham and his wife Nicola Peltz have not attended any Beckham family events for over a year | GETTYIn January 2024, Victoria Beckham publicly praised her daughter-in-law on social media, describing Nicola as a “loving daughter-in-law”.
She later told NBC after the wedding: “As a mother, to see my son so happy means so much to me. What more can you ask for?”
Despite Brooklyn’s claim that his mother “cancelled making Nicola’s dress in the eleventh hour”, Nicola has previously shared a different version of events.
Speaking to Grazia USA, she said that after initial discussions about the design, she did not hear back for several days before Victoria contacted Nicola’s mother to explain that her atelier could not make the dress in time.
Nicola has consistently said she “really wanted to” wear a Victoria Beckham design and believed it would have been a “beautiful story” to wear a dress created by her future mother-in-law.
Following persistent rumours of a post-wedding “cold war”, Nicola repeatedly sought to quash speculation.
In interviews with The Sunday Times in 2022 and Cosmopolitan in 2023, she insisted there was no feud, saying: “I keep seeing that word everywhere… maybe they picked up on something? And now they’re labelling it a feud?”
She also described the Beckhams as “great in-laws” shortly after the wedding.
By early 2026, however, Nicola was reported to have removed references to the Beckham family from her social media accounts as the rift hardened into what sources described as an “acrimonious divide”.
Amid the ongoing fallout, Nicola is focusing on her career and is preparing for a lead role in the upcoming indie drama Prima, which follows a prima ballerina whose life begins to unravel amid upheaval at her ballet company.
