Disputes over Brooklyn and his wife's finances are said to have added yet another twist to the family's ongoing rift

The Peltz family have allegedly accused David and Victoria Beckham of being "tight" for not properly providing for their son Brooklyn, according to reports.

The allegations centre on Brooklyn's new £11 million Hollywood mansion, which he shares with wife Nicola Peltz, daughter of billionaire investor Nelson Peltz.

Sources have claimed that the Peltz family believes the Beckhams have not been financially supporting their eldest son adequately.

"Money, so the saying goes, is the root of all evil. Certainly, in the case of the Beckhams vs Peltzes, it's proven... tricksy," an insider said.

The source added to The Sun: "David and Victoria are two working-class kids done good. When it came to buying this house, of course, they weren't just going to hand their son millions of pounds -- what sort of message does that send?"

The Peltz family is said to believe that the Beckhams "effectively cut off their kids financially when they turn 18."

Brooklyn does not entirely own the five-bedroom, six-bathroom property overlooking the Pacific Ocean, with Nicola holding the majority ownership.

Friends of David and Victoria fear this arrangement leaves Brooklyn "trapped", alongside a forensic pre-nuptial agreement drawn up to protect the Peltz family's enormous wealth.

The property was largely purchased using Nicola's trust fund money, though Nelson Peltz, as the fund's creator, had to approve the release of funds.

Both Brooklyn and Nicola are believed to have contributed their work savings to the purchase, having "been saving for years", though the exact amounts remain unknown.

The ownership structure has allegedly become a significant point of contention between the two families, with the Beckhams concerned about their son's financial independence.

The pre-nuptial agreement, whilst standard practice in America according to sources familiar with the contract, ensures that in case of divorce, the Peltz family assets would be protected.

The financial philosophies of the two families appear fundamentally at odds, with sources highlighting the stark contrast in their approaches to wealth.

"David and Victoria are two working-class kids done good. They have grafted hard for their money and understand that with privilege comes responsibility," a source told The Sun.

The insider explained that the Beckhams "will not needlessly spoil their kids and have taught them the value of both industry and money."

In contrast, Nelson Peltz, worth $1.6 billion according to reports, and his wife Claudia "regard Nicola, their little girl, as the apple of their eye."

"Understandably, they want to indulge her and ensure she never struggles," the source said, adding that the Peltzes "expected the Beckhams, worth half a billion themselves, might match them penny for penny."

This clash of values has reportedly caused significant friction, with the Peltzes allegedly telling people they find the Beckhams' approach "a bit tight."

The Beckhams have firmly rejected these financial accusations, with friends insisting David and Victoria "will always support Brooklyn if and when he needs it."

"When he was setting up on his own, they would regularly help him out as parents do but they won't spoil him. They still help all their grown-up kids," a friend told The Sun.

The financial disputes have become central to the seven-month rift between Brooklyn and his parents, which saw him miss David's 50th birthday celebrations.

Brooklyn has not spoken meaningfully to his parents since the tensions escalated, with their last communication understood to be a "happy birthday" text.

The aspiring chef and actress failed to attend any of David's five milestone birthday events across Miami, London, Paris, the Cotswolds, and Scotland.

Brooklyn has also avoided congratulating his father publicly on his knighthood earlier this month, or paying tribute to his dad for Father's Day.

Meanwhile, Victoria, David, and Brooklyn's brothers, Romeo and Cruz, have continued to include Brooklyn in their family-centric social media posts.

In a more heartwarming bit of family news, David revealed how his mother reacted to the news he'd become Sir David.
