Each BGT judge is given the opportunity to send their favourite act straight to the live shows

Amanda Holden left Britain's Got Talent viewers scratching their heads over the weekend when she awarded the sought-after Golden Buzzer to a performer fans deemed "not worthy" of the award.

During the latest episode of the talent show, Holden, 53, was so impressed by Japanese star Nabe she pressed the famous buzzer for the second time this series.

Nabe took to the stage to show off some of his impressions, which left the presenter laughing hysterically.

He made use of his long to hair to aide the characteristics of the characters he took on, such as Shaun the Sheep and the Teletubbies.

He even did an impression of judge Simon Cowell, using his hair to impersonate Cowell's famously hairy chest, which left the audience in fits of laughter.

However, all seemed surprised when Holden lunged forward to press the Golden Buzzer.

Amanda Holden and Nabe

As the celebrations over the moment commenced, Holden went on to state: "God I love him so much.

"You know when you want to laugh so much you can't get enough out of me.

"Normally when I press my Golden Buzzer I'm in floods of tears and I give a big speech, but this made me howl, you were so funny."

Cowell went on to call Nabe "one of the funniest people we've ever had" adding: "And the only person I know who does impersonations with their hair. I mean this is genius, absolutely genius."

Bruno Tonioli enthused: "I really had no idea what was coming next and every time you surprised me you were very, very funny."

Thanks to Holden, Nabe has automatically been granted a place in the live semi-finals, which will take place later this month.

However, several fans were confused as to why Nabe had been put straight through and quizzed Holden's decision.

"That act was ok. Not worth a golden buzzer though. #BGT," one person wrote on X.

Nabe was Amanda's second Golden Buzzer act

Another penned: "Amanda’s golden buzzer? I have no words #BGT #BritainsGotTalent."

"Still don’t get Amanda’s second golden buzzer… and Simon ‘one of the funniest people we have ever had’ #BGT," a third added.

Someone else shared: "#BGT #BritainsGotTalent That Japanese bloke who did impressions with his hair was mildly amusing but not hilarious, he was certainly not worthy of a golden buzzer & besides - hadn't Amanda already used her gb for a singer....? Also, why do Amanda & Simon hug when she uses her gb?"

"Joking Amanda that was not a golden buzzer the acrobat was a million percent better #BGT #BritainsGotTalent," another complained. (sic)
