Alison Hammond has spoken openly about her weight loss journey

This Morning presenter Alison Hammond has been candid about her recent weight loss journey, with the ITV star having lost an impressive 13 stone after being diagnosed as prediabetic five years ago.

Ms Hammond, 50, has managed to shed a significant amount of weight in that time, sharing fears of an early death.

The famously upbeat presenter has faced ups and downs on her health journey.

She underwent surgery in 2007 for a gastric band, but had the procedure reversed just three years later.

When asked if she'd ever consider weight loss injections such as Mounjaro, she replied: "I don't like the fact you have to say, 'Oh no, I wouldn't have the jab'.

"Maybe next year I might change my mind and I might start jabbing up."

She went on to add she has "no opinion" on people using the jabs for weight loss.

"If someone wants the jab, go for it. What does it matter how someone loses their weight?" The Mirror reports.

Reflecting on health scares and mortality, she asked: "Would you rather me die from being obese?

"Ultimately I want to live longer, so we'll do whatever to get smaller and be more healthy."

Ms Hammond routinely takes part in 45-minutes bootcamp-style circuit sessions, adding she also implements walking into her life when unable to exercise properly.

Speaking to Heat Magazine, she shared: "If I'm working, I don't train, I'll go for a walk.

"But when I'm at home, I'll go and have a session with her in the morning, just an hour. It might be four days a week."

Despite Ms Hammond's cheerful demeanor, Celebrity Traitors star Charlotte Church recently admitted the presenter had "p***ed me off".

The Welsh singer's confession came after she shared her true thoughts on last year’s This Morning appearance, which ended up going viral thanks to host Ms Hammond.

The singer joined Ms Hammond and Dermot O’Leary on the ITV magazine show for a segment about sound baths, a form of relaxation which focuses on instruments and other soothing vibrations.

Ms Church, 39, was present in the This Morning studio last November so she could demonstrate the meditative practice to Ms Hammond and Mr O’Leary, who had agreed to take part.

However, just seconds into the process, the Brummie presenter ended up in fits of giggles that she didn’t make much of an effort to conceal.

Addressing the incident, which circulated widely on social media as a funny moment, Ms Church has admitted it “p***ed me off.”

Ms Church had been singing along soothingly as different sounds played out in the studio, with both presenters lying on the floor to immerse themselves in the relaxing experience.

While Mr O’Leary made an obvious attempt to ignore Ms Hammond’s not-so-subtle laughter, the sound bath was clearly disrupted.

Speaking on Elizabeth Day’s How To Fail podcast last week, Ms Church gave an honest response when asked about the incident.

“Oh, that p***ed me right off,” she admitted before adding: “I’ve met Alison Hammond a number of times and she’s a wonderful woman.

“I think that part of it was a misjudgement on my part to go ‘Let’s do a five-minute sound bath on national TV. That makes loads of sense. Yeah, let’s go for it.’

“I think it was a misjudgement on my part, but I think that what annoyed me more than anything else was that then I’m given the opportunity to display and demonstrate and represent somewhat this amazing art of sound healing or sound ceremony or however people want to describe it, and then it’s made a figure of fun.”

She continued: “That really did actually touch quite a deep wound for me. I was like, ‘Ugh I really like you, Alison, but f*** you.’”
