With Assyrian forces threatening from outside and corrupt leaders failing from within, hope rested on the promise of a just ruler.
While a few good kings partially fulfilled this, the ultimate fulfilment came with the birth of Jesus Christ the true King who uses His power to serve, save, and set the oppressed free.
His righteous reign has begun, but will only be fully complete when He returns again.
