The airline already connects four UK airports to must-visit Nordic cities

Norwegian has announced a new direct route between Edinburgh and Billund, Denmark, in more good news for British holidaymakers.

The new service will provide passengers from Scotland with convenient access to one of Scandinavia’s most popular family destinations.

Billund, located in central Jutland, is best known as the birthplace of LEGO® and home to the world-famous LEGOLAND® theme park.

The city also offers the LEGO® House experience centre, a variety of family-friendly attractions, and excellent connections across Denmark.

Chief commercial officer at Norwegian, Magnus Thome Maursund, said: “The direct route will make it easier for Danes to experience history, culture, cuisine and the stunning landscapes of Edinburgh and the Scottish Highlands - an unforgettable travel experience.

"Likewise, we hope to welcome on board many Scots travelling to Billund, one of the most popular family destinations in Scandinavia, known for its many attractions and famous theme parks.”

The Edinburgh to Billund service is part of a wider expansion that includes 10 new routes from Billund to major European destinations. Norwegian sees strong potential in the region, both as a tourist destination and as a hub for business travel.

The move also underlines the airline’s long-term commitment to the Danish market and is a welcome boost for British holidaymakers planning their next getaway.

Norwegian recently announced its expanded summer schedule, which includes increased capacity and year-round connections from London, Manchester, Edinburgh, and Newcastle to key Nordic cities.

The addition of Billund strengthens Norwegian’s strategy to enhance travel links between the UK and Scandinavia, catering to both leisure and business travellers across the region.
