Moving abroad can be daunting, but taking advice from other expats can give you a clearer idea of what it will be like.
Speaking exclusively to GB News, he explained why he would recommend Portugal to Britons - you can "build a new life without ever feeling far from home".
The southern European country has beautiful weather, gorgeous coastlines and a large expat community, all while being just a few hours from the UK.
Founder of FRESH Portugal, Zeev Fisher, highlighted the friendliness of the Portuguese people as a huge bonus for the country.
He told GB News: “More than 350 years ago, the UK and Portugal signed the Treaty of Peace, Friendship and Alliance. That alliance, reaffirmed many times since, reflects centuries of shared values, friendship and mutual admiration.
"As a British expat myself, and as a dual-qualified English solicitor and Portuguese lawyer (Advogado), I can say with confidence that there is nowhere in the world where British people are made to feel more at home than in Portugal.
"The country is famous for its perfect weather, beaches, food and culture, but its real magic lies in its people. They are warm, kind and genuinely welcoming, with a special affection for the British."
EXPAT ADVICE
In addition to friendly locals, Portugal has picture-perfect beaches, vibrant cities and stunning architecture.
Fisher also highlighted financial incentives. He said: "Add to that a favourable and often little-known tax regime (NHR 2.0), which exempts foreign income - particularly capital gains - alongside accessible immigration routes, excellent international schools, and the best level of English in Southern Europe."
While some terms and conditions must be met, this can be financially beneficial to Britons moving to the country. The expat continued: "Since the pandemic, the retirees who have long favoured the Algarve have been joined by remote workers and younger families.
"For many Britons, Portugal isn’t just a sunny destination, it’s a place where they can build a new life without ever feeling far from home.”

| GETTYPortugal is one of many incredible European countries that expats often choose to settle in. Greece is another exciting option, according to one travel expert.
They said: "I work in many countries, but one particular destination that I'd like to highlight for Britons moving abroad is Greece. Besides its sunny climate and stunning beaches, a few factors make it so interesting.
"Overall, the country is living a very positive recovery, with sustained economic growth, fiscal consolidation, increasing investment and competitiveness - positive for both those moving for work and those retiring abroad."
