Samsung has unwrapped its flagship lineup of laptops, dubbed Galaxy Book 6.
Powered by Windows 11, Samsung will release three flavours: Galaxy Book 6, Galaxy Book 6 Pro, Galaxy Book 6 Ultra. Samsung has promised these svelte machines will offer its "most advanced PC performance yet". The Galaxy Book 6 lineup is the first to be fuelled by the Intel Core Ultra Series 3 system-on-a-chip — the earliest available sub-2-nanometre advanced node manufactured in North America.
That extreme chip density should offer a dramatic step-up in efficiency — maximising battery life — and performance per watt. Samsung says Galaxy Book 6 owners can expect "high-speed CPU, GPU and NPU performance, enabling lightning-fast processing, seamless multitasking, and more responsive AI". Of course, we'll have to get our hands on these sleek new machines to put those claims to the test.

Powered by the latest-generation Intel Core Ultra Series 3 system-on-a-chip, the engineers at Samsung had to redesign the cooling system to maintain the performance while keeping everything cool to the touch

To make sure all of that extra grunt doesn't generate too much heat, Samsung engineers designed a newly optimised vapour chamber and airflow system to dissipate the warmth from the densely-packed Intel system-on-a-chip. By expanding the size of the fins inside the fan, heat is safely whisked away more effectively, improving cooling efficiency by 35% compared to the previous generation. Samsung says this new design maintains quiet operation across Galaxy Book 6 Ultra and Pro models, marking the first time the Pro series uses a vapour chamber.
Samsung slashes £300 off the previous Galaxy Book5 laptops

Don't fancy waiting for the all-new Galaxy Book 6 lineup? Samsung has slashed £300 off the Galaxy Book 5 on its online store. This PC still runs Windows 11 Home and ships with 16GB of RAM. If you're looking for a new slimline laptop that doesn't break the bank, this could be the right pick

Battery life also enjoys a boost from this new generation of chipsets. The Galaxy Book 6 lineup includes Samsung’s longest-lasting Galaxy Book battery yet, with both the Pro and Ultra models rated for 30-hours of video playback on a single charge. That's five hours more than its predecessor and means you'll be able to watch your favourite films at the airport for the recommended three-hours before boarding the longest long-haul flight on the planet (an epic 19-hour journey from Singapore to New York) and still have enough juice for a full day at the office. Yikes.

Despite the performance, Samsung has maintained a slim and lightweight chassis for the Galaxy Book 6 lineup

If you're running low, the fast charging on Galaxy Book 6 Ultra promises to restore up to 63% of battery life in just 30 minutes.
Despite the serious amount of battery life and performance squeezed into these machines, the engineers at Samsung have managed to keep everything contained in a very compact package. The top-end Galaxy Book 6 Ultra measures a meagre 15.4 millimetres in thickness, representing a 1.1-millimetre reduction from its predecessor. The Pro 16-inch variant achieves an even slimmer 11.9-millimetre profile.
While the standard and Pro models are available in a choice of 14 or 16-inch screen sizes, the all-singing, all-dancing Galaxy Book 6 Ultra only ships with the biggest display. Likewise, the Galaxy Book 6 Ultra ships in a single colour, Grey. However, the other two are available in your choice of Grey or Silver.
There's also a two-tone keyboard and haptic touch trackpad designed for comfortable hand placement and precise controls, up to six speakers with Dolby Atmos certification on the Galaxy Book 6 Ultra, and HDR peak brightness of up to 1,000-nits so everything on-screen remains clear-as-day even when working outside in direct sunlight.
"At Samsung, we believe true innovation starts with getting the fundamentals right," said Won-Joon Choi, President, Chief Operating Officer (COO) and Head of the R&D Office, Mobile eXperience (MX) Business at Samsung Electronics.
"Performance defines the PC experience. With the Galaxy Book6 series, we combine unparalleled speed and power with dependable AI to deliver the exceptional productivity and creativity capabilities users expect from Samsung."

So, what's missing? When Samsung revealed these eye-popping specifications at the CES consumer technology tradeshow in Las Vegas earlier this month, it left out one critical detail — the pricing. We don't actually know how much it'll cost to upgrade to one of these ultra-powerful, ultra-slimline Windows 11 laptops from the South Korean firm.

While there's still no word on UK pricing for these laptops, Samsung is gearing up to launch its Galaxy Book 6 series in its native South Korea, and the KRW pricing offers a rough guideline

UK pricing is still being kept under wraps, but Samsung has published the price tag and availability for the Galaxy Book 6 Pro and Galaxy Book 6 Ultra on its online store in South Korea. According to the listings, Galaxy Book 6 Pro 14-inch will cost KRW 3,410,000 (approximately £1,731) while the larger Galaxy Book 6 Pro 16-inch will cost KRW 3,510,000 (£1,782 converted).
As for the Galaxy Book 6 Ultra, its variant with the Nvidia RTX 5060 GPU costs KRW 4,630,000 (£2,351 converted) and the variant with the Nvidia RTX 5070 GPU costs KRW 4,930,000 (£2,504 converted). Samsung will make these models available to purchase on January 27, 2026.
