London-based Nothing will open-up preorders for its newest gadgets at 1pm

If you want to be one of the first to own the latest gadgets announced by award-winning British upstart Nothing — you'll need to take action at 1pm today (July 4, 2025). That's when preorders for its newly announced Nothing Phone (3) and Headphone (1) will begin ahead of the UK release date of July 15, 2025.

You'll need to preorder to ensure that you're sent out the all-new Phone (3) and Headphone (1) on launch day. Nothing says its new gadgets will arrive on UK store shelves on July 15. Both Phone (3) and Headphone (1) will be stocked on its own website, Nothing.tech, as well as a slew of third-party retailers.

There will be an exclusive drop at Nothing Store in Soho, central London on July 12, 2025 from 11am, where the first 100 customers will be able to purchase a Phone (3) and Headphone (1) for just £800, plus exclusive merchandise. That's a saving of £398 compared to buying them separately online.

Plucky British start-up Nothing made its debut in October 2020. Its first product was the well-recieved Ear (1) — a pair of wireless earbuds with a stylish transparent design and an eye-catching £99 price tag.

Its follow-up, the Ear (2) won the London-based firm a Red Dot design award. Its first Android handset, Phone (1), added another gong from the prestigious award ceremoney, cementing the reputation of the brand's in-house tastemakers.

Preorder the Nothing Phone (3) to ensure you're one of the first people on the planet to pocket the first true flagship phone from the British tech start-up. Phone (3) boasts 4x 50MP cameras capable of shooting in 4K UHD up to 60 frames-per-second, a 6.67" AMOLED screen with 1.5K resolution, and a unique Glyth Matrix screen that can help with selfies, show incoming callers, timers and stopwatches, and much more

As the price tag of Nothing smartphones has started to climb as the ambitions of the four-year-old company increased, Nothing launched a sub-brand called CMF that aimed to continue supplying affordable handsets and wireless earbuds. The most recent addition to the lineup, CMF Phone 2 Pro, costs just £219.

CMF Buds 2a — the successors to the original Nothing Ear (1) in many ways — start from as little as £29.

Available in either Black or White, Nothing Phone (3) builds on the transparent design used in previous Android handsets from the four-year-old brand, but adds the new Glyth Matrix screen and a blinking red dot when recording video from the upgraded triple-camera

As for Phone (3), Nothing co-founder Carl Pei described the new feature-packed Android handset as the "clearest statement of where we're going as a company" and promised it will "set the tone for what comes next". That means we can expect this plucky British upstart to compete head-to-head with the best from Google, Apple, and Samsung.

Phone (3) is the first genuine flagship phone, powered by Qualcomm's new Snapdragon 8S Gen 4 system-on-a-chip, supercharged Artificial Intelligence (AI) capabilities, 6.67" AMOLED screen with a 1.5K resolution, and four 50MP cameras with 6x lossless zoom, Portrait Mode, and the other trimmings you'd expect for a device in its price.

Glyth Matrix is one of the ways that London-based Nothing wants to bring back some joy to smartphone designs

NOTHING PRESS OFFICE

Nothing has become known for its trademark transparency and the so-called Glyth Interface — a pattern of LEDs built into the rear case that can be programmed to flash in specific patterns to signal an incoming call from a certain contact, show the progress of a timer, or remaining battery life, to name just a few uses.

On Phone (3), this has been replaced with the Glyph Matrix – a charming, circular screen with a stylised pixelated look. This serves a similar purpose, displaying real-time progress bars for timers so you can keep up-to-date "without getting pulled into endless scrolling", Nothing says. It can also show contact-specific avatars, so you'll know who is calling or sending a text, even if you've placed your smartphone face down to avoid distraction.

At launch, Nothing has included a built-in battery indicator, a countdown for timer shots from the camera, a digital clock, and a stylised pixelated mirror for selfies from the rear camera.

There's also a randomised spin-the-bottle animation that can be used like a coin toss to work out whose round it is. This is what Nothing refers to as a "Glyth Toy" and it hopes will a splash of irreverent joy back to its smartphone. Nothing is actively recruiting members of its community to build playful new applications for the Glyph Matrix.

When it comes to photography, Nothing Phone (3) is equipped with:

  • 50MP Main Camera
  • 50MP Periscope Camera for 6x lossless optical zoom and 60x digital soom with AI enhancements
  • 50MP Ultra-wide Camera that offers a 114º field-of-view
  • 50MP front-facing camera for selfies and video calls

All four cameras built into the Phone (3) can shoot in 4K UHD resolution at up to 60 frames-per-second. The Ultra-wide Camera also supports macro photography, letting Phone (3) shoot high-resolution stills just 10cm away from a subject.

Nothing has worked with professional photographers to develop a swathe of presets that automatically adjust dozens of toggles and settings to achieve the exact cinematic look you're looking for. For fans of Denis Villeneuve, there's a Dune preset coming at launch with the Phone (3), so your summer holiday footage will look like it was shot on Arrakis.

Meanwhile, the Nothing Headphone (1) are "designed to be remembered".

These £299 noise-cancelling headphones were co-engineered KEF, a Kent-based company known for its high-end audio products, including HiFi speakers, subwoofers, architecture speakers, and wireless speakers.

Nothing relied on KEF’s advanced acoustic engineering and proprietary tuning tools to create the custom-built 40 mm dynamic drivers inside each earcup that deliver rich, natural audio with deep bass, detailed mids, and crisp treble across all modes, including ANC, Transparency, and Spatial Audio.

According to the start-up, on-device spatialisation and built-in head tracking ensure "Headphone (1) transforms any stereo source into a 360-degree soundstage that adapts in real time to the listener’s movement".

Like the Phone (3), the Headphone (1) represent a significant step-up from the British brand and see it compete directly with award-winning headphones from the likes of Bose, Sony, and Apple, for the first time.

These over-ear cans support Hi-Res Audio, LDAC, USB-C lossless playback, and a 3.5mm jack — helpful for those who want to take advantage of the improved sound and noise-cancellation with the entertainment system on long-haul flights.

"With Headphone (1), we set out to create something that doesn't just sound great, it feels different the moment you pick it up," said Adam Bates, Head of Design at Nothing. "From the tactile controls to the transparent construction, every detail is intentional. It's a product that looks different, works differently, and invites people to connect with sound in a more expressive way."

You'll get up to 35 hours of listening time with Active Noise Cancellation enabled, while the Headphone (1) only need five minutes on charge to top-up the battery with enough juice for 2.4 hours of playback.

Powered by With Bluetooth 5.3, Nothing Headphone (1) support being paired with two devices at the same time. There's also built-in support for Fast Pair and low-latency performance, so switching between devices is seamless.
