You can switch your broadband service for a fiver.
GiffGaff has just slashed the prices across its broadband packages to just £5 for the first six months of a 24-month contract. This includes its 200Mbps plan — normally £25 per month, its 500Mbps — normally £28 per month, and 900 Mbps — normally £32 per month.
Giffgaff CEO Kate Dohaney told ISPreview: “At a time when prices notoriously inflate for the summer months, and costs rack up, we’re offering greater value to our members with broadband for just £5 a month and no price hikes to our members’ contracts for the remainder of their term. This reflects our commitment to fairness, ensuring people have clarity and confidence over their bills.”
For comparison, BT is offering a 500Mbps package for £33.99 and a 900Mbps deal for £36.99. On the other hand, Sky is offering its 150Mbps plan for £23 per month and its 900Mbps for £30 per month in what the company says are its "lowest prices ever."
If you were to select Sky's cheapest plan for £23, you'd be paying £138, whereas a plan with Giffgaff will give you the power to choose between different speeds and pay only £30 for the first six months.
Switch your broadband package for just £5 per month from Giffgaff

You have the option to switch broadband packages to your choice of 200 Mbps, 500 Mbps, or 900 Mbps for only £5 per month for six months. Either use your current router, or Giffgaff will send you one from Amazon, which can be managed from your phone. Giffgaff is known for offering fixed prices during its 24-month contracts, meaning you won't undergo any annual price hikes

And what's particularly noteworthy about Giffgaff is that they won't increase your bill annually while you're in the middle of your contract.
For instance, most telecoms like Vodafone, BT, EE, Virgin Media, and more increased monthly Direct Debits to subscribers by a fixed pound-and-pence rise back in April. While these annual price hikes used to be linked to inflation, recent Ofcom rule changes mean it's now a fixed amount that's spelt out when you sign up for a broadband contract.
That means with other providers, you need to factor in extra upcoming costs.

Unlike several broadband providers, GiffGaff won't ask you to pay more while you're in the middle of your broadband contract

The broadband provider leverages the Nexfibre full-fibre (FTTP) network, which is built in partnership with Virgin Media O2. Both brands offer an alternative to the BT-owned Openreach network, which is used by BT, Sky, EE, TalkTalk, Vodafone, and several other popular providers.
Openreach, which is connected to 99% of all homes and businesses in the UK, is in the process of upgrading its network to full-fibre. It plans to connect gigabit-capable full-fibre broadband to 30 million before the end of the decade. Openreach also just ceased the sale of traditional copper landlines to an additional 1.69 million premises across the UK.

Giffgaff also gives you the option to use your existing router, or it will ship an eero router with Wi-Fi 6+ compatibility from Amazon. The eero lineup is designed to unlock faster speeds, improve efficiency, and reduce network congestion on your network.
Wi-Fi 6 is responsible for many of these improvements. This wireless standard was first introduced back in 2019 and offers an expanded range — so your Wi-Fi network could finally reach every corner of the house — as well as faster speeds and lower latency for gaming and streaming.
Your devices will need to support Wi-Fi 6 to benefit from the improvements to your network. Brands like Samsung, Google, and Apple have built support for this newer wireless technology into their devices for years, so there's a decent chance many gadgets in your home are ready to benefit from the improved Wi-Fi network.
