It arrives among several other changes to your wearable

  • Oura is releasing a new software update on June 4
  • This brings several new health tracking features to the Ring 4 and Ring 3
  • These new additions were announced with the all-new Ring 5
  • Oura Ring 4 and Ring 3 owners will be treated to the same features
  • They can get live updates during workouts and delete health data
  • You can now track your Oura Ring and charger, like Find My
  • But Britons miss out on some of the new health features

If you own an Oura Ring, you're getting treated to a slew of new health tracking features at no extra cost. That's because Oura is rolling out a major software update in a few days that brings some of the most exciting new features from the all-new Ring 5 to older devices, like the Ring 3 and 4.

It's ideal if you're not planning on upgrading your wearable anytime soon, or want to take advantage of the cheaper Ring 4 prices at the moment — just £349, since you won't miss out on the newest features.

The major software update includes Health Radar for proactive health monitoring, live workout tracking, GLP-1 medication insights, better privacy controls, and a handy tool for finding lost rings. It rolls out on June 4, 2026.

The company said in a blog post: "These updates empower Oura Members with more ways to understand their health, stay connected to their routines, and take action with greater confidence."

Here's everything you can expect from the newest additions.

Health Radar headlines the software update. It's meant to work in the background, constantly scanning your heart and breathing signals to spot patterns that might be worth your attention. For instance, it could flag an irregular heartbeat or one that might be abnormally high in comparison to your current activity.

There are also two main tools built within it — Blood Pressure Signals and Nighttime Breathing.

Blood Pressure Signals are designed to keep an eye on shifts that could suggest cardiovascular strain, a symptom of high blood pressure, alerting you when something looks off.

On the other hand, Nighttime Breathing will show you a 30-day overview of how you're breathing during sleep, helping you spot trends that might warrant a chat with your GP. Sleep apnea is a significant risk factor for cognitive decline and dementia.

Here's the catch for Britons, though. Health Radar is only launching in the US, UAE, and India this month. UK members will have to wait for access to these features.

The Oura app is what will let you see and monitor all of your activity. There are two different versions — free or paid (£5.99). The free version only gives you access to basic sleep and activity tracking. It won't alert you to changes in your trends. You also miss out on the built-in Oura Artificial Intelligence (AI) assistant, who can answer queries about your wellbeing.

You also won't be able to access the new features above without the paid subscription.

Oura's paid membership is less than the monthly cost of the Google Health Premium membership (£7.99/month).

Oura will also be treating users to Live Activity Tracking, which brings real-time statistics about your workout to the lockscreen. Pace, distance, and heart rate are all visible as you move, with lock screen widgets keeping everything in view without fiddling with your phone.

The automatic activity detection has also had a nice upgrade. It now recognises more than 40 different exercises with better accuracy, including gentler workouts like yoga and pilates that don't involve much movement.

This feature will roll out to everyone gradually, starting this week.

Oura is releasing new GLP-1 Insights, which is designed for those taking weight loss medications like Ozempic, bringing all their tracking into one place rather than juggling multiple apps

The update also includes new GLP-1 Insights. It's designed for those taking weight loss medications like Ozempic, bringing all their tracking into one place rather than juggling multiple apps.

Oura said in a blog post: "With global adoption of GLP-1s projected to surpass 100 million people by 2030, the average person using a GLP-1 medication still juggles several apps to track dosing, side effects, weight, and biometrics."

You can log your medication, your dose, and your schedule directly in the Oura App. Like Health Radar, Britons will unfortunately miss out on this feature for now, too. It will first launch in the US, UAE, and India.

Lastly, Oura will add Data Deletion, which lets you remove health data from specific time periods without losing your account or membership. This is ideal if you want to purge sensitive data from eras you don't want tracked or shared, keeping exactly what you choose.

It's also not meant to alter your health tracking trends. For example, your resting heart rate or body temperature baselines should remain the same.

If you have a habit of misplacing your jewellery, then Oura's new Locate feature will be especially handy. Similar to Find My on iOS, you'll be able to track down a misplaced ring or charging case by putting your device into search mode.

Plus, this feature will extend to the older Ring 2, which first launched all the way back in November 2017, so the majority of Oura owners will benefit from this feature.
