Currys has slashed prices across several TVs as part of its latest online sale. Of the hundreds of flatscreens on-sale, one of the most notable is this JVC 32-inch HD LED TV for £99. It comes complete with all your favourite Freeview channels in HD to immerse yourself in a film, boxset, or sports match.
But if you're to invest a little more, you can score a Freely-powered option for just under £190 — was £279.
For those who don't know, Freely launched in the first half of 2024. Built by the same team as Freeview and Freesat, this new platform is forecast to overtake both by the end of the decade. Everything is streamed via a Wi-Fi connection, so you can place your flatscreen anywhere in your home with decent signal — you're not limited to where the aerial was already positioned before you moved in.
With a Freely-compatible television plugged in, you can stream the most popular channels in the UK, including GB News, and more than 70,000 hours of on-demand content — that's more than you'll find in the Netflix catalogue.
Features that you'd usually associate with Sky TV and other paid-for platforms, like the ability to restart a show that's currently on-air when you tune in halfway through, are available at no cost with Freely TV.
Plus, Currys will even buy your old TV so you can upgrade to something new at an even lower upfront cost. If you want to snag these deals, you have a very limited time.

Freely was first launched in 2024 and provides live and on-demand TV over broadband, replacing the need for a traditional TV aerial or satellite dish
| EVERYONE TVThis is Pleio — the first set-top box that brings Freely to any television.
Dubbed "the puck" by manufacturer Netgem, it lets you stream free-to-air channels and on-demand boxsets from free-to-air broadcasters over Wi-Fi.
Until now, the only way to experience the Sky Glass-like features included with Freely was to upgrade to one of a slew of new televisions built from the ground up to support the streamer. But that all changes with the arrival of the plug-and-play Pleio, which brings Freely-exclusive features to any Smart TV for the first time.
Upgrade your telly with Freely's Netgem Pleio

French entertainment brand Netgem is the first brand to launch a plug-and-play box that brings Freely to any television. Connect via HDMI, and you'll be able to stream the most popular free-to-air channels, including the BBC, ITV, Channel 4, U, and of course, GB News. Freely arrives packed with several features previously only found on paid-for options like Sky Stream and EE TV
Netgem Pleio
$119.88
Plug in Pleio, and you'll have access to over 75,000 hours of on-demand content (believe it or not, that's more than Netflix) and 55 live channels, including GB News, ITV, BBC, Channel 4, U, and dozens more.
The first-of-its-kind Freely box was just hit with a price rise recently — was £99, now £119.99 due to an increase in hardware costs. However, Pleio also now comes with a 12-month subscription to premium channels and cloud gaming.
It's worth remembering that ownership of the hardware is deferred until the 12-month subscription period ends, which means you’re essentially leasing or financing it as part of the subscription. You can't sell the Pleio box after six months as a second-hand item, since you don't technically own it at that point.
New features are being added all of the time, too, with the Everyone TV team behind Freely adding the ability to scroll backwards through time on the TV Guide to access content from streaming services, earlier this year. Likewise, the catch-all My List feature announced earlier this year is now available on all Freely-powered gadgets.
