Emma Raducanu found herself quickly backtracking during a BBC interview after recommending Olivia Rodrigo's music for those experiencing heartbreak.
When asked about the American singer's presence at Wimbledon, the British tennis star said: "No. She's got some great heartbreak songs.
"If you're ever going through it, she's the one."
The 22-year-old immediately attempted to distance herself from any personal connection to the sentiment, laughing and adding: "I wouldn't know though! Of course not."

Her hasty denial came during discussions about her tournament progress, having secured a second-round victory over Marketa Vondrousova on Wednesday whilst Rodrigo watched from the Royal Box.
BBC presenter Clare Balding appeared unconvinced by Raducanu's swift retraction, observing: "I think she suddenly thought, have I given something away there?!"

The exchange occurred as Raducanu prepares for her third-round encounter with world number one Aryna Sabalenka.
Despite never publicly confirming a relationship, the British number one has been the subject of persistent speculation.
Romance rumours have intensified following her announcement of a mixed doubles partnership with Carlos Alcaraz at the upcoming US Open.
When questioned about the online reaction, Raducanu maintained they are "just friends" whilst acknowledging: "I'm glad the internet is having fun and we're providing some entertainment for everyone."
More recently, Benjamin Heynold has emerged as a figure of interest in Raducanu's personal life.
The pair, who first met as junior tennis players, have sparked speculation after Heynold was spotted courtside supporting the 22-year-old at Queen's and now at Wimbledon.

PAPreviously, Raducanu was linked with Carlo Agostinelli in 2023. The son of a billionaire was photographed with the tennis star before she reportedly blocked him on social media months later.
Raducanu's upbringing included strict parental rules against romantic relationships.
She told The Times: "My parents were very much against it as it interfered with training."
The former US Open champion faces a formidable challenge against Sabalenka in Saturday's third round, aiming to better her fourth-round performances from 2021 and 2024.
