Emma Raducanu has been given a boost as she gears up for her appearance at the US Open at the end of August.
The Briton reached the semi-finals of the Citi Open last week in both the singles and doubles.
Despite losing in both semi-finals, the 22-year-old has been rewarded in the WTA rankings.
Following an impressive performance in the singles semi-final, Raducanu lost out on her first final since the US Open in 2021.
However, while she was also forced to retire alongside Elena Rybakina in her doubles semi-final, Raducanu's ranking still increased due to her performance.
Raducanu has now passed Katie Boulter in the rankings and reclaimed the title of being British No1.

The 22-year-old's ranking will become all the more important as the US Open closes in. If Raducanu can get herself into the top 32 before the US Open, she will be seeded, allowing her a higher opportunity of a favourable draw as she aims to replicate her 2021 title run.

The 22-year-old can increase her rank further this week if she performs well in Montreal. Raducanu did not compete at the Canadian Open last year and has the chance to claim the valuable points she needs to crack the top 32.
She will face Elena-Gabriela Ruse in the opening round of the tournament and could face the Wimbledon runner-up, Amanda Anisimova, in the third round.

“I’m not feeling the best right now, so I just need to go and speak to the doctors," she said.
"It was one of the toughest matches, conditions-wise, I have ever played in,” Raducanu added. “Those points in the second set, I was getting a bit wobbly. I’m just happy I could close it out, and it was two sets.

Despite the issues she has been dealing with, fans are very excited to see the British No1 play at the US Open, not least because of her blockbuster team-up with Carlos Alcaraz.
