Fallon Sherrock and Cameron Menzies have broken up after four years together

Professional darts players Fallon Sherrock and Cameron Menzies have ended their four-year relationship, according to former tour player Vincent van der Voort.

The separation was disclosed during a recent episode of the podcast Darts Draait Door, where presenter Damian Vlottes mentioned that Van der Voort was aware of the break-up.

"They broke up you told me," Vlottes said, prompting Van der Voort to confirm: "True, yes. But what else do you want me to say about it? I don't work for a gossip magazine. I don't know the exact reason either. She told me and I didn't ask why."

The pair, who had become known as darts' golden couple, have now gone their separate ways after years of supporting each other's careers.

The couple first connected through an online darts league in Southampton, where they played as doubles partners.

Their romance began with a simple fast-food outing, as Menzies once explained: "It started off with a KFC."

Throughout their relationship, the Scottish player served as a supportive partner and father figure to Sherrock's son Rory from a previous relationship.

The pair practised darts together at their home, with Menzies acknowledging that Sherrock frequently outplayed him during their sessions.

"I'm quite lucky I've got a very good partner who can play darts," he had previously told Sky Sports. "It's good in the house unless she beats me and I've got to make the food. I don't like it when she beats me."

Sherrock's absence from her partner became evident when she competed at the Women's World Matchplay on Sunday at Winter Gardens.

Despite being in Blackpool for the men's tournament earlier that week, Menzies did not appear in the audience for her matches as he typically would.

The 31-year-old, known as 'The Queen of the Palace', advanced to the final where she was defeated by Lisa Ashton after failing to convert eight attempts at double.

Menzies had exited the men's competition in the opening round, suffering a 10-2 defeat to Danny Noppert whilst recording the tournament's lowest average of 81.35.

His performance included a costly 180 bust that contributed to his early departure from the championship.

Sherrock made headlines in 2019 when she became the first woman to secure a victory at the World Championship, progressing to the third round.

The Milton Keynes player revealed last month that she plans to step away from competitive darts for twelve months whilst addressing health concerns.

"I just need to sort myself out," she explained. "I need to get myself well again and then once I do, the sky is the limit because I know I can do it and I know how many hours I've got to put in, what standard I've got to play."

She added: "So I can do it, I just need the energy for it first."

The break coincides with the end of her relationship with Menzies, who had previously described himself as her "biggest fan."
