Josh Allen won't be copying the Kansas City Chiefs star

Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen is taking a markedly different approach to fame than his NFL rival Travis Kelce, according to reports.

While Kelce has embraced the spotlight alongside pop superstar Taylor Swift, Allen plans to keep a lower profile with his fiancée, actress Hailee Steinfeld.

The pair became engaged last November, thrusting the self-described shy Bills star into celebrity circles.

But unlike Kelce, who has leveraged his relationship with Swift to launch television and acting pursuits, Allen is determined to keep his focus firmly on his NFL career.

Sources close to Allen say he's learning from what they describe as Kelce's mistakes.

An insider told the Daily Mail: "Besides being at any of her premieres or anything else to support her, Josh and Hailee aren't going to be seen a lot going out to dinner and parading themselves around like Taylor and Travis do."

Allen, 28, proposed to Steinfeld, also 28, in November last year.

As interest in their relationship grows, the quarterback is determined to maintain privacy.

"Josh will take it as it comes, as winning the Super Bowl is the goal. Everything else can come second," the source added.

"He is going to remain mostly on the sidelines for things that would make his status and fame more with Hailee."

Allen is widely considered one of the best quarterbacks yet to win a Super Bowl, with many tipping him to change that in 2025.

The Bills star is on a £55million-a-year contract, worth an overall £330million.

Unlike Kelce, Allen's form is on an upward trend, though that doesn't guarantee the championship he craves.

Four times in the last five years, Allen's season has ended at the hands of Kelce and Kansas City.

Despite being crowned MVP in 2024, Allen and the Bills once again fell short against the Chiefs.

"He would love to win multiple Super Bowls and be forever placed in the conversation as one of the best," added the insider.

Sources close to Allen previously told the Daily newspaper that Kelce's off-season workload contributed to his "alarming downturn" in the 2024 season.

This culminated in what they described as a "Super Bowl humiliation" in February.

At 35, Kelce is approaching the twilight of his career, whilst Allen still has "a long way to go".

"If the Bills were to finally win the Super Bowl, it would take him into a stratosphere even he might not be ready for," the source explained.

"He doesn't assume that it will get to the levels of Taylor or Travis though, because Taylor is so popular."

Allen reportedly "would love to take a lower-profile approach" whilst focusing on his sporting ambitions.

Despite their fierce on-field rivalry, Kelce has previously expressed admiration for Allen.

"Josh is who I used to dream of being like in the NFL," Kelce said before the Chiefs defeated the Bills.

"Big, athletic quarterback, big arm, being able to be a dual-threat guy."

The Kansas City star added: "I just never had the arm talent that Josh has, so they kicked me over to tight end. I have so much respect for that guy."

The two remain friends off the pitch despite their contrasting approaches to fame.

As Allen focuses on breaking his Super Bowl duck, he'll be hoping his lower-profile strategy pays dividends where it matters most.
