The 46-year-old has flatly refused to quit his post despite the backlash against him

Luis Rubiales' uncle has slammed the Spain FA chief, saying even family members are against him.

The 46-year-old has been in the spotlight ever since kissing Jenni Hermoso following La Roja's 1-0 Women's World Cup final victory over England.

Rubiales has been given a 90-day ban by FIFA and Spain are looking at ways to remove him from his position.

And his own uncle, Juan, has now spoken to El Confidencial to take aim at his nephew.

He described Rubiales as a 'boy', while also saying: "I think he needs a social re-education programme and re-education in his relationship with women."

Juan also said the Spain FA chief was 'cowardly', too.

"He is a person with a tendency to cowardice. He is a cowardly man," he stated.

"That's why, if you see him, he is always surrounded by a lot of people. That's why he always calls dinners at his house until the wee hours of the morning, surrounded by his people.

"What happens is that, when he puts on the boss's hat, well, of course, he feels... that he believes he is the best."

Rubiales' mother, Angeles Bejar, recently vowed to go on hunger strike until justice was served.

She feels her son is being unfairly treated and was rushed to hospital on Wednesday on the third day of her protest.

Bejar had previously insisted she was prepared to die to seek justice for her son, while also urging for Hermoso to 'tell the truth'.

"I just want the truth to be told," she said.

"She knows my son is very honest. If she tells the truth everything will be fixed."

Yet while Juan acknowledges she is 'suffering', he also believes her stance is the wrong one.

"I respect his mother," he continued. "All mothers have the right... I know the woman is suffering.

"But my mother is also suffering. And the mothers of the 25 people that Rubiales kicked out of the Federation without committing any irregularity are also suffering.

"And the people that at his command he has crushed have also suffered greatly.

"We Rubiales are absolutely positioned with an idea of dignity. And dignity is defending Jenni, understanding her, and reproaching this president's shameful behavior."

And when quizzed on why he was giving the interview, Juan said: "Well because I think it is time to give this testimony.

"First, because I can clarify many things. And second, because I must also defend myself from so many false accusations that have been made against me.

"They have used the apparatus of the Department of Communication and the legal apparatus of the Federation to crush me. And I have never entered into their game and I have respected justice.

"Now was the time to talk. I want to pay tribute to all the people who started with Rubiales and who have gone from strength to strength because they were people with personality, like Ana Munoz, like Velasco Carballo, like Marisa Gonzalez, like the financial director... very honest and professional people.

"And then, also, to all the workers of the Federation, honest and very good people."
