Pedro Porro found himself at the centre of an angry post-match reaction on Saturday night after the Tottenham full-back appeared to rebuke 19-year-old Lucas Bergvall and then walk straight down the tunnel without acknowledging supporters following Spurs’ 2-1 defeat to Fulham.
The incident prompted heavy criticism online and deepened concerns about the deteriorating relationship between the squad and the home crowd.
Tottenham were booed off after a dismal first-half showing in which they conceded twice inside six minutes, and tensions were high by the final whistle.
As players lingered on the pitch amid the jeers, television footage appeared to show Porro gesturing sharply towards Bergvall before shouting in his direction.

The teenager had been clapping the fans in the South Stand at the time. Porro then removed his shirt and headed directly down the tunnel, bypassing both supporters and coaching staff.
The reason for Porro’s anger is unclear, but some supporters suggested online that the confrontation was triggered by Bergvall applauding the crowd - something Porro may have felt was ill-timed in the atmosphere of frustration.
Whatever the cause, the reaction was swift and fierce across social media.

“You people do not know how absolutely tired I am of Pedro Porro,” one fan wrote on X. “And his antics at full time, not clapping the fans, ignoring the manager, but coming out to shout at Bergvall? Disgusting.”
Another added: “Bergvall [is] a young kid who puts in more effort than experienced pros and has the decency to thank the fans and he’s got Porro digging him out. Coward.”
Others questioned the wider culture within the squad.

“It looks like there’s a massive disconnect between the players and the fans,” one supporter said. “Very strange behaviour from Porro to call Bergvall to come down the tunnel, who was clapping the fans.”
Porro’s behaviour compounded an already damaging evening for Tottenham, whose home form has collapsed dramatically in recent months.
The defeat was their fourth at home this season, leaving them with the second-worst home record in the league.
Tottenham have now lost 10 league fixtures at home in 2025, equalling unwanted club records set in both 1993 and 2004.
Fulham arrived with only a single away point to their name but were gifted an extraordinary start.
Kenny Tete struck within minutes, before Harry Wilson doubled the lead after Guglielmo Vicario lost possession following a misjudged attempt to carry the ball wide under pressure.
Fulham were impressive as they battled to a 2-1 win away at Tottenham | GETTYThe goalkeeper was loudly booed the next time he touched the ball, and jeers resurfaced several times thereafter.
Manager Thomas Frank sharply condemned that reaction, calling it “completely unacceptable”.
“I didn’t like how the fans reacted to that,” he said. “They booed at him straight after and also three or four times when he was on the ball. For me that is absolutely unacceptable. They can’t be true Tottenham fans. Booing after [the match], fair. No problem. But when we are playing we need to be together.”
Frank, already under scrutiny after one win in seven matches, admitted early errors had undermined Spurs’ entire approach.
“Definitely conceding two goals in six minutes gives us a mountain to climb,” he said.
“When you are in a bad spell or a tough spell, things go against you. The first one is a deflected shot and the second one is a mistake from Vicario.”
