Tottenham Hotspur have received a huge financial boost, with Brazilian side Palmeiras set to smash their transfer record in a £55million deal for Richarlison.
The Brazilian side reached the quarter-final in the Club World Cup this year, losing to eventual winners Chelsea 2-1, but still raked in around £30million in prize money.
Along the way, the side beat Al Ahly and fellow Brazilian side Botafogo, as they made their way to a prestigious quarter-final clash against the Blues.
It has been said that Palmeiras, who sold Estevao to Chelsea in a £29million deal that will go through this summer, will use the money to fund an audacious bid for Spurs star Richarlison.

The 28-year-old has made 90 appearances for Spurs, scoring 20 goals during his three-year spell at the club, although the forward has faced significant injury problems.
He made just five Premier League starts last season with the north London club now looking to offload the striker.
That being said, £55million would mark an extraordinary financial coup for Thomas Frank’s side, as he looks to bolster the squad in other areas.

The club are looking to complete the £60million signing of Morgan Gibbs-White.
The north London side also have Crystal Palace’s Adam Wharton high on their list of priorities, however, they will not make a move for the midfielder until a deal for the Nottingham Forest midfielder is completed.
Forest are threatening legal action, despite Spurs reportedly activating the 25-year-old’s release clause, as they believe their player was illegally contacted before a deal was made with the club, in what could be a long, drawn-out and messy ordeal for all involved.

Nevertheless, a significant sale of Richarlison, who has struggled to make an impact at the club since his arrival in 2022 for £65million, would generate the necessary additional funds for both transfers.
Negotiations are currently being led by Palmeiras club president Leila Pereira, who is aware of Spurs’ £55million demands.
The Brazilian side broke the Brazilian transfer record last season, bringing former Barcelona forward Vitor Roque to the club in a £20million deal.

The 20-year-old moved from Brazil to the Catalan club for a fee in the region of £25million just 18 months ago, but struggled to make an impact in Europe after he also joined Real Betis on loan.
The Richarlison deal would nearly triple the league’s transfer record, and could be an impact of the Club World Cup’s extravagant prize money.
Fluminense, who reached the semi-final of the inaugural tournament, received an astonishing £50million, whereas their current transfer record stands at just £5million, dating all the way back to 2007.
Auckland City, who were thrashed 10-0 by German champions Bayern Munich in their first game, took home over £3million despite not even playing at a professional standard.
Chelsea, though, were the biggest winners, taking home over £85million of the £750million prize pot.
Having spent over £200million already this summer, the financial boost from the tournament covers nearly half of their frivolous spending.
