Liverpool emerged from the Merseyside derby as victors after a nervy 2-1 win over Anfield against Everton.
First-half goals from Ryan Gravenberch and Hugo Ekitike appeared to put the home side in complete control.
But, just like on Wednesday night against Atletico Madrid, Liverpool retreated and gave their opponents impetus to roam forward and get themselves back into the match.
On that Champions League night, Atletico brought themselves level before losing in the last minute while Everton here grabbed one back from Idrissa Gueye but could not go one further despite some late pressure.

And while Arne Slot will be happy to maintain Liverpool's status at the top of the Premier League for another week, he would not have enjoyed his side relinquishing control for large part of the match.
It all started in fine fashion for the Reds, who looked like they were ready to put their Merseyside rivals to the sword.
Gravenberch started the scoring with a beautiful half-volley, redirecting Mohamed Salah's skimmed pass over Toffees goalkeeper Jordan Pickford with exquisite skill.
The Dutchman then turned provider just before the half-hour mark, feeding Ekitike after a slick move as the striker slotted wonderfully to leave Everton shellshocked.
But rather than go for the jugular, Liverpool took their foot off the gas and the visitors ended the half strongly, taking that confidence into the second half where Gueye slammed home to reduce the deficit.
Liverpool managed to hold on to maintain their perfect start with five wins out of five in the Premier League, but what did we learn this Saturday afternoon?

It is stunning to think that under Jurgen Klopp, there were question marks over whether Gravenberch would be at the club much longer with him unable to hold a position.
Now under Slot, the Dutchman has become an integral part of the team and arguably the most complete midfielder in the Premier League.
The 23-year-old's goal and assist against Everton came after being given license to roam forward by the Reds coach and it paid immense dividends.
Last season, the former Bayern Munich ace proved his credentials in defensive midfield - and now he is adding goals and assists to his game.
Still at a young age, there is huge promise for Gravenberch.
Alexander Isak might have a big problem
If you are Isak right now, you might be considering that you have made a bit of an error joining Liverpool - whose current leading man is showing no signs of slowing down.
Ekitike's arrival from Eintracht Frankfurt was no bargain, joining for a fee of around £80million, but no one thought he would take to life in the Premier League so easily.
The Frenchman has already scored four times for the Reds but his goal against Everton was so slick and smooth, timing his run perfectly, taking a deft touch before a swift strike through Jordan Pickford's legs.
After signing from Newcastle for £125million, there is no doubt that Isak will be a mainstay in the Liverpool starting line-up soon.
But at the moment, the Sweden international might have to take a step back and simply enjoy Ekitike's performances - like the rest of Anfield.

Stop the press! Liverpool have comfortably won a match of football without needing injury-time.
After the Reds grabbed a last-gasp winner against Atletico Madrid earlier this week in the Champions League, Liverpool fans were becoming accustomed to staying seated until the very end.
A total of five matches this season already out of seven have seen the Merseyside outfit clinch late, late wins.
