Jose Mourinho has said "yes" to becoming manager of Real Madrid if the club's president, Florentino Perez, wins the elections.

The Portuguese appeared in a short video in a Real Madrid shirt, saying: "Si" to the camera.

The footage then brought up the wording "Vota Florentino 2026", translating to "Vote Florentino" with background music of a woman humming the club's theme song, "Hala Madrid".

Mourinho signed as the new Real Madrid manager on a three-year deal and will be unveiled on June 7 if Perez wins.

Mourinho has left his role at Benfica after leading them to an unbeaten league campaign and a third-place finish, with Marco Silva taking over following his departure from Fulham.

The 63-year-old last managed Real for three years from 2010 to 2013, winning La Liga, the Copa del Rey and the Spanish Super Cup.

This season has been one to forget for Real, ending their campaign with no trophies and falling to a 2-0 defeat against Barcelona in El Clasico, which won their rivals the league.

Mourinho's first taste of success came at Porto, where he was in charge from 2002 to 2004.

The Portuguese won the club's second Champions League in 2004, despite being underdogs throughout a spectacular campaign.

The victories put his name on the map and earned him a move to Chelsea, where he labelled himself "The Special One".

Mourinho won two Premier Leagues in his first spell with the Blues, as well as an FA Cup, two League Cups and a Community Shield.

After being let go by the Blues, the Portuguese took his pedigree to Italy with Inter Milan, winning Serie A twice, a Coppa Italia and a Supercoppa Italiana.

His biggest achievement while with Inter came in 2010, winning the treble after claiming the Champions League in Real's stadium against Bayern Munich.

Mourinho said goodbye to Inter after winning the treble, as he took on the task of stopping Pep Guardiola's Barcelona with Real.

He would go on to win the Copa del Rey, the Supercopa de Espana, and the La Liga title in 2012.

From there, the Portuguese returned to Chelsea, winning the Premier League again and another League Cup.

After a poor spell, Mourinho was sacked again, taking over Manchester United in 2016, bringing silverware to Old Trafford with a Community Shield, a League Cup and a Europa League.

A move to Spurs would come next, and it would be the first club where he would win silverware, after being sacked just days before guiding Tottenham to the League Cup final.

Mourinho then took charge of Roma, winning the Europa Conference League and becoming the only manager to win all three European club competitions.

Following spells at Fenerbahçe and Benfica, the Portuguese returns to Real, who are in desperate need of a shake-up.

Time will tell if he can add to his 26 major trophies throughout his career with the Spanish giants.
