The duo argued during the Reds' 2-2 draw with West Ham on Saturday

Jamie Carragher has suggested Mohamed Salah and Jurgen Klopp's row on Saturday was because the Liverpool winger took too long to come on against West Ham.

Fans were left stunned after the duo argued on the touchline prior to Michail Antonio's equaliser at the London Stadium.

Salah had to be dragged away by Darwin Nunez after clearly taking objection to something his manager had said.

Klopp has attempted to downplay the row in the aftermath of the clash, insisting they've spoken in the dressing room and moved on.

And Carragher has suggested Salah is to blame, insisting the winger may simply have taken too long to get ready before being introduced.

"The only reason a manager would be unhappy in this situation, is the player took too long to be ready to come on," he said on X.

Fans have reacted to Carragher's message, with many Liverpool supporters saddened by their plight.

They have won just one of their last five league matches, losing ground on Arsenal and Manchester City in the race for the title.

One user said: "Club's just a mess at the moment."

A second said: "Of course he took too long, lmao.

"How can he be happy coming on this late in the game."

A third weighed in by saying: "That’s it for Salah now. Klopp won’t be the only one going at the end of the season."

Another stated: "Salah got upset with being brought on late."

And a fifth ran reacted by saying: "Liverpool is in shambles."

Other pundits have also reacted to the row between Salah and Klopp.

Peter Crouch admitted it wasn't pleasant to see, with the former Liverpool forward saying: "It didn't look good, I don't think it looks good for the club.

"Mo Salah is a player who has started the majority of games for Liverpool and he will be fuming to be on the bench.

"But no-one likes to see this between a manager and a key player."

And another ex-Reds star, Stephen Warnock, said: "It is not good to see at all.

"You have two people who are equally important to the football club.

"The connection between the two has to be of respect and respect how they have helped each other's careers.

"With Mo Salah being pushed out a little bit he doesn't like that - it is a clash of egos."
