Fifa president Gianni Infantino has issued a statement after a car rammed into Liverpool fans after the Reds's trophy parade on Monday evening.
A spectacular day ended in horror when, at around 6pm, a black SUV collided with dozens of Liverpool fans who were out to celebrate their side’s triumphs on the pitch this year.
Merseyside Police announced that a 53-year-old white male, who is believed to be the driver of the vehicle, was arrested at the scene.
The force added that 47 people had sustained injuries, with 27 being taken to the hospital.

Fifa President Gianni Infantino has issued a statement, offering his thoughts and players to those who have been affected by the incident.
The 55-year-old said: “Football stands together with Liverpool FC and all fans of the club following the horrific incident that has taken place during the trophy parade in the city.

“From everyone at FIFA, we offer our thoughts and prayers to all those affected."
Both Liverpool and the Premier League have also released statements on the tragedy.
“We are in direct contact with Merseyside Police regarding the incident on Water Street which happened towards the end of the trophy parade earlier this evening,” a statement from the club said.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with those who have been affected by this serious incident.

“We will continue to offer our full support to the emergency services and local authorities who are dealing with this incident.”
The Premier League added: “Everyone at the Premier League is shocked by the appalling events in Liverpool this evening, and our heartfelt thoughts go out to all those injured and affected.
“We have been in contact with Liverpool FC and have offered our full support following this serious incident.”

Liverpool legends Jamie Carragher and Steven Gerrard also took to social media to offer their thoughts and prayers to anyone who had been affected.
"Devastating end to the day.......just pray everyone is okay,” Carragher said online.
Eyewitnesses told GB News that Liverpool Lime Street station had been shut and "[there were] tonnes of police and ambulance came rushing in, it was mad."
Another eyewitness told GB News: "I saw a car ram through people and pedestrians then started banging on the car like 'what are you doing?
"Then the driver reversed and sped up forward and mowed down more people as pedestrians, police and ambulances started chasing after the car.
"It happened five feet away from me, I’m so grateful I managed to avoid it, terrifying to think what could have happened."
Deputy chief constable Jenny Sims said the force believe the incident was isolated and are not treating it as terror-related.
