Kyle Walker had a night to forget on Tuesday as the Three Lions crashed to defeat at the City Ground

Kyle Walker is currently in the spotlight after the 35-year-old endured a horrendous night at the office in England's 3-1 defeat to Senegal on Tuesday.

The Three Lions appeared to be heading towards victory when Harry Kane struck in the seventh minute of the match.

However, Senegal went on to mount a terrific comeback - with Ismaila Sarr, Habib Diarra and Cheikh Sabaly all finding the net to give the African side victory.

Walker was the worst player on the pitch for England, with the defender exposed time and time again as the visitors ran riot.

His performance was so lacklustre that some fans don't want him to ever play for the side again, especially while the likes of Trent Alexander-Arnold and Reece James are waiting in the wings.

Walker's poor performance comes just days after it emerged that his marriage to wife Annie Kilner was described as 'as bad as it's ever been'.

The defender, who continues to be on the books at Manchester City, previously split from Annie after admitting to fathering two children with mistress Lauryn Goodman.

Walker has, in the time since, been working hard to repair the relationship.

He issued a grovelling apology to The Sun last year where he fronted up and took responsibility for the couple's marriage falling apart.

Annie accompanied Walker to Italy when the right-back joined AC Milan on loan back in January.

Yet the Daily Mail said at the end of May that their relationship was 'as bad as it's been'.

Friends close to the couple stated that Walker was 'barely speaking' with Annie, who is reportedly 'still unable to forgive him' for his flings with Lauryn in the past.

Walker had hoped that, when the family moved to Italy, the situation would improve.

However, they reportedly view his time in Italy as a 'wasted opportunity' when it comes to their marriage and saving it.

A friend was quoted as saying: "Kyle really enjoyed his time with Milan, especially off the pitch.

"Having played under Guardiola for so long, which is exhausting having to meet his lofty standards, he felt the shackles were off when he joined Milan and made the most of his new lifestyle, perhaps eating and drinking what he wouldn't ordinarily consume, as well as socialising more.

"That impacted him on the pitch which is why he didn't perform to the levels he's become accustomed to over the years.

"That disappointed his parents who flew over to watch him for the last game of the season and he didn't even make the bench.

"His family see it as a wasted opportunity as now he's back to square one again."

With Walker's personal life plagued by issues, it's no wonder his form on the pitch has dipped over the past 18 months or so.

England boss Thomas Tuchel has defended his decision to pick the veteran, insisting he deserves his place in his team.

Based on last night's evidence, however, Walker is now facing a fight to save his international career.
