David Beckham has joined former teammates Gary Neville, Paul Scholes and Roy Keane in blasting Manchester United and under-fire boss Ruben Amorim after his side suffered a comprehensive 3-0 defeat to local rivals Manchester City.
Beckham, who made 394 appearances for the Red Devils before his £25million move to Real Madrid, said he is “fed up” with his beloved club during an appearance on CBSSportsGolazo.
“Being an ex-player and a fan, I would hope that [the players] are hurting like we are as fans,” the 50-year-old said.
“And I’m sure they are, because they’re not going out there not wanting to win games.
“They’ve just come up against a team like Manchester City at Manchester City.

“When you lose a game like that, you don’t go out for a while because if you do, you’ll bump into United fans.
“It was a very hard watch. And like I said, as a United fan, I’m kind of fed up with watching these games and seeing what we’re seeing.”
Beckham’s comments mark the latest in an outburst of disappointment and frustration from former players, which has been seen throughout the media before.
Manchester United have won just eight Premier League games under Ruben Amorim

Throughout United’s squad, Casemiro, Bruno Fernandes, Harry Maguire, and Luke Shaw are 30 or above. Despite the experience, Scholes suggests they do not have the personality on the field that is needed.
In the summer, the club splurged more than £200million on a host of new additions, with a mixture of Premier League experience and raw talent.
Matheus Cunha, 26, Bryan Mbuemo, 26, Senne Lammens, 23, and Benjamin Sesko, 22, walked through the doors at Old Trafford.

Neville, speaking on the Gary Neville Podcast, expressed that he was “worried about the manager” and “worried about what's going to happen in the next few weeks”.
The former full-back cited that: “I’ve seen this before, we've seen this film,” suggesting that Amorim’s struggles at the start of this season mirrors the trajectory of previous managers who have fallen at Old Trafford, such as Erik Ten Hag and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
Neville also mentioned that a result at the weekend could prove crucial for the under-pressure boss as they look to turn their form around. They host an unbeaten Chelsea at Old Trafford.

“Next week, if they lose, they will go to 15th or 16th. It's five games in and before you know it, you're in October and they're in the bottom half of the table; that's where they can't be,” Neville said.
Typically, Roy Keane also did not mince his words in his immediate reaction to the derby day defeat.
“This United team lack that real quality. They struggle defensively. There are obviously issues,” the 54-year-old said on Sky Sports.
“You talk about the system, but the manager is sticking to his guns; he is not budging.

“You look at the results and the points per game, goals for and against. It is not good reading. It does concern me.”
Amorim has just eight Premier League wins under his belt as United boss during his 10-month tenure, and holds the worst win per centre of any manager at Old Trafford since World War II.
The statistics do not make good readings, nor do the comments of club icons. These particularly focus on the performances on the pitch and the manager’s refusal to deviate from plan A, his style of play.

Nicky Butt added on The Good, The Bad & The Football podcast: “If [Amorim] wants to get results and keep his job in the long run, he is going to have to bite the bullet and change a bit – otherwise they’ll keep losing games.”
But the Portuguese remained defiant to the pressure to change his ways after his side’s 3-0 defeat at the Etihad, declaring: “I am not going to change my philosophy. I play my way, and I am going to play my way.”
While it is early in the season, the feeling around Old Trafford is that this system is not getting the most out of the 11 players on the field.
“When I want to change my philosophy, I will change. If not, you'll have to change the men,” Amorim told reporters after the game.
