Windsor Castle hosts an investiture ceremony today where Carey Mulligan will collect her CBE for services to drama.
The 40-year-old actress earned recognition in the New Year Honours list following a distinguished career that includes Oscar-nominated turns in An Education and Promising Young Woman.
Ms Mulligan’s role in An Education secured her a Bafta for Best Actress in 2010.
Her portrayal of Daisy Buchanan in The Great Gatsby, alongside Hollywood legend Leonardo DiCaprio, also brought her widespread acclaim.

Ms Mulligan's next major project sees her joining Daniel Craig and Meryl Streep in Greta Gerwig's Netflix adaptation of The Chronicles of Narnia, due for release this year.
Among the other recipients at today's ceremony is Admiral Sir Tony Radakin, who has been awarded a Knight Grand Cross – the most senior honour within the Order of the British Empire.
The former Chief of the Defence Staff held Britain's top military position from December 2021 through to September 2025.
Hilary McGrady, who heads the National Trust, will also receive a CBE in recognition of her contributions to heritage.

She has served as director-general of the conservation organisation since 2018, overseeing one of the country's largest charitable bodies.
Valerie Lolomari, a survivor of female genital mutilation who has dedicated herself to campaigning against the practice, receives an MBE for her efforts to prevent violence against women and girls.
Through her charity Women of Grace, Lolomari has provided support to more than 650 women affected by FGM across the country.
Her recognition at today's ceremony acknowledges both her personal courage in speaking out about her experiences and her practical work helping other survivors rebuild their lives.
