The 40-year-old was dismissed on Monday, less than 24 hours after Sunday's 2-2 draw with Leeds

Alejandro Garnacho appears to have made his feelings about Ruben Amorim's departure from Manchester United abundantly clear.

The Argentine winger, now at Chelsea following a £40million summer transfer, liked an Instagram post from journalist Fabrizio Romano confirming the Portuguese manager had been dismissed by the Red Devils on Monday.

The social media activity suggests lingering animosity between the 21-year-old and his former boss, whose relationship deteriorated significantly during a turbulent campaign at Old Trafford.

Garnacho's exit from United came after months of friction with Amorim, culminating in a complete breakdown that saw the talented youngster pushed towards the exit door.

The discord between Garnacho and Amorim surfaced remarkably quickly, emerging within weeks of the manager's appointment.

Both the winger and Marcus Rashford found themselves excluded entirely from the squad for the Manchester derby, a decision that marked the first public sign of trouble.

Despite this rocky start, the Argentine managed to work his way back into favour as the season unfolded.

He featured 58 times across all competitions, suggesting a temporary thaw in relations with the Portuguese coach.

Yet this reconciliation proved short-lived. As United's campaign lurched towards a disappointing conclusion, the fragile truce between manager and player collapsed entirely.

The Europa League final against Tottenham Hotspur proved to be the decisive moment.

Garnacho spent most of the match watching from the substitutes' bench, eventually coming on for just 20 minutes as United suffered defeat.

His post-match interview left little doubt about his frustration.

"Up until the final I played every round helping the team, and today I play 20 minutes - I don't know," he said. "The final will influence my decision."

These public comments infuriated Amorim.

According to The Athletic, the manager confronted Garnacho in front of his teammates days later, telling him bluntly: "You better hope you have a good agent this summer."

Following this confrontation, Garnacho was effectively banished to the Carrington "bomb squad" – a group of players deemed surplus to requirements under Amorim.

He joined Tyrell Malacia, Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho and Antony, all of whom had no future at the club.

This was not the first time Garnacho's temperament had caused issues.

In February, he reacted furiously to being substituted before half-time following Patrick Dorgu's red card, storming down the tunnel despite the change being purely tactical.

The winger later posted a photograph of himself looking dejected in the rain. Amorim subsequently revealed Garnacho had apologised and would buy dinner for the entire squad as penance.
