Rugby star Micky Young has firmly established himself as part of Alan Shearer's family circle, despite occasionally finding himself the subject of the Newcastle legend's good-natured ribbing.
The 36-year-old Gloucester Rugby scrum-half, who previously spent more than a decade with Newcastle Falcons across two spells, has been in a relationship with Shearer's eldest daughter, Chloe, for some time.
Young regularly features in Shearer family photographs on social media and has clearly formed a strong bond with his girlfriend's famous father.
His integration into the family was evident when he made extraordinary efforts to support Shearer's son, Will, at the recent London Marathon.

However, that was not without a memorable travel mishap.
Young's journey to support Will Shearer at the London Marathon took an unexpected detour after he attended a Newcastle football match.
Intending to catch the 5:59pm train from Newcastle to London, Young arrived at the station five minutes early and boarded what he thought was his train.
Only 15 minutes into the journey, he was startled to hear an announcement welcoming passengers on the train to Edinburgh - a non-stop service heading in the opposite direction from his intended destination.
The Hartlepool-born player had inadvertently boarded the wrong train, finding himself heading to Scotland rather than to London to cheer on Shearer's son.

Alan Shearer couldn't resist sharing the travel blunder on The Rest is Football podcast with Gary Lineker and Micah Richards.
The Match of the Day pundit explained: "He got there five minutes early, and then he got on the train. Then, [after] 15 minutes on the train, he heard the announcement, 'Welcome to everyone who's got on this train to Edinburgh.'"
Rather than giving up, Young caught an overnight bus. Shearer continued: "He got on the f***ing Megabus, the 10pm Megabus, which costs him £30 from Edinburgh to London and he got in at 6.45am this morning into London.
"So I said to him, 'You are meant to be looking after my f***ing daughter in the future!'"

Despite the travel mishap, Young has clearly formed a strong bond with the Shearer family.
He is currently in the midst of his Newcastle Falcons testimonial year, supporting both the Alan Shearer Foundation and the My Name's Doddie Foundation, an MND charity named after the late Scottish rugby legend Doddie Weir.
A recent Pre-Lions Dinner organised by Young's testimonial committee raised funds for both charities.
Young shared a picture from the Alan Shearer Foundation ball earlier this year, writing: "We had a great night at the ASF ball on Saturday... we're proud to be supporting the Alan Shearer Foundation as one of our chosen charities throughout the testimonial year."
