Max Verstappen made a surprising admission when asked for his top five drivers of all time.
When asked the Dutchman excluded himself from his list, despite having the third most wins in F1 history.
Verstappen also excluded fellow Red Bull legend Sebastian Vettel and Frenchman Alain Prost.
The Dutchman boasts 65 Grand Prix wins, only surpassed by Lewis Hamilton (107) and Michael Schumacher (97).
Sebastian Vettel was left out of Max Verstappen's list
PAWhen asked by DAZN Espana, he named Hamilton and Schumacher, who both have seven world championships alongside Ayrton Senna, Fernando Alonso, and Juan Manuel Fangio.
Hamilton, Schumacher, and Senna are all regulars in the GOAT discussions, and the numbers are hard to dispute. Alonso has only two titles to his name but it is widely recognised that he has spent most of his career outperforming the car he has been in.

PAWhile Verstappen did not put himself in the top five, many pundits have already put him in their top five.
Earlier this year, former Ferrari driver, Gerhard Berger sang Verstappen’s praises: "With Max Verstappen, we have someone who makes me question whether my old assessment is still correct. Max didn't make a single mistake last season.

"At least that happened to Senna from time to time. Senna and Schumacher benefited from the fact that they drove karts from an early age and did nothing else in life but race.
"That applies to all drivers today. Verstappen, however, still races virtually on the simulator in his spare time. He is always preoccupied with racing.
Oscar Piastri is now the championship's clear frontrunner in 2025
Reuters"He mentally plays through where he can and cannot overtake. Neither Senna, Schumacher nor Hamilton had this tool. It's simply noticeable that Max is always in the right place. At the start, in the first corner, in the duel. I can't think of anything you could do better than him. That's why Max Verstappen is probably the best we've ever seen in Formula One."
Verstappen will be hoping that he can channel some of his former dominance from recent years in upcoming races, as he aims to pull himself back into the title fight.
The Red Bull driver sits 49 points behind championship leader Oscar Piastri, so will be hoping to close in at the Canadian Grand Prix this weekend.
