Max Verstappen took on a new name to race GT3 cars in a recent break before the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix
It seems the small hiatus between races is too long for the Dutchman, who has been seen taking on another form of motorsport.
Verstappen was spotted using the break to drive a Ferrari GT3 car at the legendary Nurburgring Nordschleife circuit.
Racing under an alias of 'Franz Hermann' so as to not attract attention, the Red Bull star experimented as he looks to rediscover his best form, according to Auto Motor und Sport.

Vertsappen.com Racing are entered into GT World Challenge Europe, with Thierry Vermeulen, Chris Lulham and Harry King driving the Aston Martin Vantage AMR machinery.
The F1 star was seen racing GT3's from time to time and this latest outing came around the infamous Nordschleife circuit ahead of the third round of the Nurburgring Langstrecken-Serie (NLS), with the Red Bull driver taking the Ferrari 296 GT3 machine for a spin, decked out in a Verstappen.com racing livery.
The publication reports that Verstappen's entry into the official NLS test and set-up sessions was supposed to remain a mystery, hence the use of a pseudonym.

Vertsappen was there to help Emil Frey Racing with their set-ups for the upcoming GT3 races - and also in order to enjoy a circuit rarely used by drivers any more.

Max has struggled this season with his car lacking performance

The reigning world champion may not be planning on stopping there, with reports stating that he is planning to obtain the Nordscleife permit, which would allow him to compete in NLS races and the circuit's 24-hour race, traditionally held in May or June.
Verstappen has participated in many virtual endurance races, so the switch to the real world seems only fitting for the all-conquering champion.
