Before the race, Norris talked with Button. And he's now hailed the former F1 star, dubbing him his 'good luck charm'.

Norris said: "It feels amazing. It's a long, gruelling race, but good fun.

Piastri won three races in a row earlier this season.

However, the Australian's lead at the top has now been trimmed - with Norris firmly in the hunt for glory following today's exploits.

Piastri delivered his verdict on the race and, though he was unable to come out on top, was pleased with his performance on the day.

"Obviously the win would have been better," he stated.

LATEST SPORTS NEWS:

"It's been a tricky weekend, from practice through to qualifying. We were close, but not quite close enough.

"Pretty happy with that overall, obviously some things to look at for when we come here next year but we got points on the board and another podium at Monaco, so it's not all bad.

"If this is a bad weekend, it's not going too badly at all.

"Well done to Lando for a great weekend and for Charles for being as quick as usual."
