Tyson Fury has announced he will fight Oleksandr Usyk at Wembley Stadium next year, making it a trilogy of contests between the two.
The former heavyweight champion, who hung up his gloves in December following consecutive defeats to the Ukrainian, declared on social media that a trilogy bout has been agreed.
Fury posted an image of himself alongside Usyk with the caption: "April 18 2026 Wembley Stadium. The trilogy!" The announcement marks a dramatic reversal for the Gypsy King, who had appeared to step away from professional boxing permanently after losing his second encounter with the undefeated Ukrainian fighter last year.
The bout will take place at Wembley Stadium in 2026, marking a potential homecoming fight for Fury on British soil. Boxing fans responded enthusiastically to the unexpected announcement across social media platforms.

One supporter commented: "This was the only fight to be made."
Another declared: "Here we go."
Additional reactions included: "Let's go Tyson" and "Absolutely! Wembley is calling."
The announcement follows recent speculation about Fury's potential return to the ring, with Saudi boxing supremo Turki Alalshikh having teased the heavyweight's comeback earlier this week. Fury has also reportedly received backing from his wife Paris to resume his professional boxing career.

Fury's boxing career appeared to have concluded following two defeats to Usyk, with the Ukrainian claiming victory in both their previous encounters.
The heavyweight division's most colourful character announced his retirement in December after suffering his second consecutive loss to the unbeaten champion.
The former WBC heavyweight titleholder had previously held multiple world championship belts before facing Usyk in their initial bout. Their second meeting sealed Fury's fate in the division, prompting his decision to step away from professional boxing entirely.

The Ukrainian's victories over Fury represented significant scalps in his quest to cement his legacy as one of boxing's elite performers.
LATEST SPORT NEWS:
The proposed trilogy fight is contingent upon Usyk successfully defending his titles against Daniel Dubois on July 19 at Wembley Stadium.
Usyk enters the bout with an unblemished professional record of 23 victories from 23 contests, seeking to extend his perfect streak to 24 wins.
Speaking from Turkey, Fury expressed confidence in Usyk's ability to overcome Dubois. He said: "I don't think Dubois wins anyway. Your man is a wily old fox and he moves his feet."

Fury elaborated on his tactical assessment of the upcoming contest: "We all know that, if you stand in front of Daniel Dubois, he will put a hole in you.
"If you move around him, he will probably take a knee after about eight rounds, off a jab."
