Stefanos Tsitsipas and Paula Badosa struggled during this year's tournament

Tennis power couple Stefanos Tsitsipas and Paula Badosa have reportedly ended their relationship after over two years together.

The alleged split has been supported by activity on social media platforms, with both players having unfollowed each other on Instagram.

Posts featuring the pair together have also been removed from their respective accounts. The 26-year-old Greek player and 27-year-old Spanish tennis star first began dating in May 2023.

The reported breakup comes just one day after both athletes suffered disappointing defeats in the opening round of Wimbledon, marking an unfortunate end to what had been a high-profile relationship in the tennis world.

The couple had previously experienced relationship difficulties, having broken up for several weeks last year before reconciling.

Their romance had been closely followed by tennis fans and media outlets since it began.

Badosa suffered defeat to British player Katie Boulter in a closely contested three-set match on the opening day of the Championships. Tsitsipas's tournament ended on day two when he withdrew whilst trailing Valentin Royer by two sets.

The Greek player's withdrawal was attributed to a back injury rather than personal circumstances.

Both players' early exits from Wimbledon marked disappointing starts to what is traditionally considered one of tennis's most prestigious tournaments.

Reports suggest that professional struggles and injuries have taken a toll on the relationship between the two players.

Additional details emerged about their difficulties, with reports stating: "They have struggled to make their relationship work.

Tsitsipas's withdrawal from Wimbledon was due to an ongoing back injury that has been causing him significant distress.

The Greek player described his physical condition in stark terms, stating: "It's probably the most difficult situation that I've ever been faced with, because it's an ongoing issue that doesn't seem to be disappearing or fading off as much."

He then added: "Myself, as a person, I have a limit at some point, so I'll definitely have to have my final answer on whether I want to do stuff or not in the next couple of months.

"If I'm not healthy, and I've talked about health so many times, if health is not there, then your whole tennis life becomes miserable."
