Princess Kate has also recently demonstrated a recycled all-white look

The Duchess of Edinburgh made a sustainable fashion statement at Royal Ascot's opening day, choosing to re-wear a stunning white dress from her wardrobe.

Sophie, 60, arrived at the prestigious racing event in the same Suzannah London 'Keres' dress she wore to last year's races.

The royal's decision to recycle the elegant piece reflects a growing trend amongst the Royal Family towards conscious consumption.

She appeared alongside Ascot partner Fiona Howden, looking poised in the recycled ensemble.

The exquisite midi dress showcases intricate daisy appliqué lace overlaying delicate fabric, creating a feminine and textured appearance.

Its design features sheer long sleeves, a modest high neckline and an ankle-grazing hemline that adheres perfectly to Royal Ascot's traditional dress standards.

The duchess's choice to rewear this particular dress holds special significance.

She first debuted the 'Keres' dress at Royal Ascot in 2024, which coincided with her silver wedding anniversary to Prince Edward.

Fashion designer Suzannah Crabb, who founded the brand, described the creation: "Our Keres dress is cut from the incredible daisy applique lace, it's a showstopping piece for Royal Ascot and any special occasion."

The bridal white colour choice enhanced the dress's sophisticated appeal, with the floral embroidery adding visual interest to the elegant silhouette.

Suzannah Crabb noted the meaningful timing: "The Duchess of Edinburgh chose to wear the Keres to Royal Ascot last year, which was also her 25th wedding anniversary, a truly special occasion."

Sophie completed her sophisticated look with a white fascinator adorned with pale pink floral details, paired with subtle diamond stud earrings.

A light tan handbag provided a warm contrast to the crisp white ensemble.

On her feet, she wore Emmy London 'Charlotte' pumps, which feature a distinctive swirl-shaped strap design.

Her beauty choices remained understated yet polished, with touches of eyeliner accentuating her blue eyes.

She styled her hair in a sleek updo positioned just above the neck, allowing her diamond earrings to catch the light throughout the day's festivities.

Sophie is not the only royal lady recycling their outfits, with Princess Kate choosing to rewear an outfit during Monday’s Order of the Garter service.

At the engagement, Kate wore a cream Tailored Boucle and Chiffon Midi Dress form the brand Self Portrait.

The Princess of Wales had worn her Garter ceremony ensemble, including her shoes, during the VE Day celebratory concert in May.

She was celebrated for cleverly updating her outfit with a white Sean Barrett hat.
