The Princess Royal performed four engagements on July 23

A member of Zara Tindall's inner circle joined Princess Anne on a royal engagement today.

As reported in the Court Circular, the Princess Royal performed four engagements on July 23 during her trip to Sheffield.

One of these engagements was a visit to Henderson's Relish, a Sheffield-based spicy condiment originating in 1885 that was known to be loved by the late Prince Philip.

In a video published by Amy Birtles, Princess Anne was filmed walking alongside Dolly Maude, the royal's lady-in-waiting, at the factory.

Maude is a treasured confidant of the Royal Family, having acted as Zara Tindall's maid of honour for her wedding in Edinburgh in 2011.

She has unofficially served as a "right-hand woman" to Zara and the Princess Royal for years.

Zara's bond with Maude was on full display at Cheltenham Racecourse earlier this year, which saw Princess Anne's daughter open the prestigious Retraining of Racehorses awards.

Maude has been described as "fiercely loyal and discreet" by those who know her.

She famously helped to deliver Zara and Mike Tindall’s third child, Lucas, on a bathroom floor in 2021.

Maude had previously worked as a maternity practitioner in the NHS in Gloucestershire for 13 years.

She is known for her love of horses and is often seen in Ascot’s royal box alongside Princess Anne.

It was March 2024 when the 51-year-old made her first official appearance as the Princess Royal’s lady-in-waiting.

A source told the Telegraph at the time: "She’s such a great girl. For the Princess Royal, it’s a perfect fit because of their shared love of dogs and horses.

"She’s not only extremely close to Zara, she also gets on brilliantly with the Princess. She’s fiercely loyal and discreet. It’s a great match."

Elsewhere on July 23, Princess Anne opened Horatio's Garden at The Princess Royal Spinal Cord Injuries Centre and visited Rotherham and District Citizens Advice Bureau.

Finally, the King's sister visited LabLogic Systems Limited at Innovation House during her trip to South Yorkshire.
