The couple are said to be following the path of Barack and Michelle Obama

A Prince Harry and Meghan Markle insider has teased "more TV projects", despite their recent Netflix blow.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex's multi-million-dollar Netflix deal, which the couple signed in 2020, is understood to be nearing its conclusion.

A source told The Sun: "The deal is done; no more shows will be made. Netflix feel they’ve got all they can from the couple.

"Netflix were clever in that they got a hell of a lot of viewers for the first documentary series."

However, Meghan, 43, and Harry, 40, are expected to sign a first-look agreement with Netflix when their exclusive contract ends later this year.

The couple are said to be following the path of Barack and Michelle Obama, whose production company Higher Ground holds a similar arrangement with the streaming giant.

A source told Page Six: “There are more TV projects coming soon with both the duke and duchess.”

Meanwhile, Meghan is preparing to launch a second season of her Netflix lifestyle series, “With Love, Meghan,” in September. The upcoming episodes were filmed alongside the first series, which debuted on March 4.

Speculation surrounding the Sussexes’ Netflix future intensified after the streamer’s semi-annual “What We Watched” report ranked “With Love, Meghan” at number 383 with 5.3 million views since its release.

However, an insider noted the show was actually in the top five per cent of Netflix’s content — 383 out of 7,500 titles — and had outperformed popular lifestyle series including “The Great British Baking Show,” two seasons of “Chef’s Table,” and series nine of “Queer Eye.”

Industry insiders insist Netflix CEO Ted Sarandos remains a strong supporter of the couple and often dines with them.

The Duchess is also continuing to build her lifestyle brand, As Ever, which recently sold out its rosé wine and is preparing to launch a champagne range and holiday products.

“As a growing business, As ever is continuing to explore growth opportunities that feel aligned with the brand’s core values and quality standards,” a source told the outlet.

“The brand continues to evolve with new products that align with her vision for quality lifestyle goods at accessible price points.”

Last month, Meghan revealed she was pressing pause on her “Confessions of a Female Founder” podcast to focus on her business while speaking on Skims co-founder Emma Grede’s “Aspire” podcast.

“What an amazing opportunity, to pull back the curtain and let people see what’s happening at the start,” she said, “to have the opportunity to talk to so many female founders who’ve been on that full trajectory, that are on the other side of success. To be able to be really candid and vulnerable personally about my learns and stumbles along the way.

“And to then take everyone’s advice, and mine included, and to say ‘I love that there’s so much excitement and desire for another season, but I need to focus on my business,'” she added.

Lemonada Media, the company behind Meghan's podcast, is also undergoing changes after being acquired by Swedish firm PodX.
