Princess Eugenie is celebrating a huge milestone two days after stepping up for the Royal Family.

The Princess of York turned 34 today, and is likely celebrating with her husband Jack Brooksbank and two sons, August, three, and nine-month-old Ernest.

This celebration comes two days after Princess Eugenie stepped up for the Royal Family.

The mother-of-two read to school children in Sloane Square, London, at Elephant Family’s Little Egg Hunt on Thursday.

The egg hunt is an interactive large-scale scavenger hunt of 12 giant decorated eggs in aid of the Elephant Family Charity.

Princess Eugenie, similarly to her older sister Princess Beatrice, is not a working member of the Royal Family.

Since the King and Princess Kate have stepped back from royal duties for cancer treatment, many royal commentators have argued that Beatrice and Eugenie should become working royals.

The 34-year-old's birthday will likely be a bittersweet occasion this year, as the Princess of Wales announced her cancer diagnosis the evening before.

During her video address, Kate said: "In January, I underwent major abdominal surgery in London and at the time, it was thought that my condition was non-cancerous. The surgery was successful. However, tests after the operation found cancer had been present.

"My medical team therefore advised that I should undergo a course of preventative chemotherapy and I am now in the early stages of that treatment."

She later added: "It has taken us time to explain everything to George, Charlotte and Louis in a way that is appropriate for them, and to reassure them that I am going to be ok.

"As I have said to them; I am well and getting stronger every day by focusing on the things that will help me heal; in my mind, body and spirit.

"Having William by my side is a great source of comfort and reassurance too. As is the love, support and kindness that has been shown by so many of you. It means so much to us both.

"We hope that you will understand that, as a family, we now need some time, space and privacy while I complete my treatment."

Princess Eugenie's charity The Anti-Slavery Collective, which she co-founded in 2017, took to Instagram to celebrate the royal's birthday.

They captioned the post saying: "From the team, we wish a joyful Birthday to HRH Princess Eugenie.
