Prince Harry addressed delegates at the International Association of Privacy Professionals Global Summit in Washington DC on Tuesday, delivering remarks on the challenges of the contemporary digital landscape.
The Duke of Sussex, wearing a navy suit, appeared on the main stage for the closing general session before participating in a discussion with Joe Jones, the organisation's director of research and insights.
His public engagement came on the same day sources confirmed he would not be meeting his father during King Charles and Queen Camilla's state visit to the American capital next month, scheduled to commemorate 250 years of American independence.
A source close to the duke has confirmed that the California-based royal will not be travelling to Washington for a reunion when his father arrives in April.

Father and son last met in September, when Harry visited the United Kingdom and shared "private tea" at Clarence House with the King.
Reports had emerged that Harry hoped to be invited to Sandringham later this year, where he wished to spend "family time" with the King alongside Meghan and their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.
However, a friend of the monarch subsequently told the Mail: "If Harry truly wishes to see his father, he would do well to encourage his supporters to allow such matters to be discussed privately, since low trust and bitter experience in this regard remains one of the principal barriers to progress."

The comments suggest ongoing tensions between the two camps over how reconciliation efforts have been handled publicly.
Despite the absence of a reunion with his father next month, the duke has another international engagement on the horizon.
Harry and Meghan are set to travel to Australia in mid-April for a series of engagements spanning private, business and philanthropic activities.

A spokesman for the couple confirmed the trip, stating: "Prince Harry and Meghan, Duke and Duchess of Sussex, will visit Australia in mid-April to take part in a number of private, business, and philanthropic engagements.
"Further details will be shared in due course."
The duke has resided in the United States since 2020, having relocated with his family to California.
