King Charles III will be unable to meet with survivors of Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell during his upcoming state visit to the United States due to active police investigations in the United Kingdom, GB News understands.
It is thought that the legal complexities surrounding the Epstein case and its related British connections make such a meeting impossible at this time.
This follows a formal letter sent by Congressman Ro Khanna to the King on March 30, 2026.
Representative Khanna, a leading advocate for transparency regarding the Epstein network and author of the Epstein Files Transparency Act, had requested that King Charles hold a private session with survivors during his visit to Washington DC in late April.

The Congressman argued that the "transnational" nature of Epstein’s crimes and the involvement of high-profile British figures required a gesture of accountability from the Head of State.
However, Their Majesties are unable to meet with survivors due to the risk of prejudicing ongoing work by UK law enforcement.
In February 2026, the King’s brother, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, was arrested on suspicion of misconduct in public office.
The investigation into the former prince, along with parallel inquiries into other figures such as former minister Peter Mandelson, has created a legal environment where any private discussion regarding the victims’ experiences could be seen as interference or could inadvertently produce evidence relevant to a criminal trial.

Mr Mountbatten-Windsor has consistently denied any wrongdoing.
In January, Mr Mandelson said in a statement: "I was wrong to believe [Epstein] following his conviction and to continue my association with him afterwards.
"I apologise unequivocally for doing so to the women and girls who suffered."
In February, Mr Mandelson resigned from the Labour Party, stating he did not wish to cause "further embarrassment" following new allegations in released US Department of Justice (DoJ) files.

The King and Queen are scheduled to arrive in the United States on April 27, 2026, for a historic visit marking the 250th anniversary of American independence.
The itinerary includes a state dinner hosted by President Donald Trump and an address by the King to a joint meeting of Congress.
